“A great relax”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

The private beach was beautiful. A great place to relax and see the sun set. The accomidation and the breakfast lived up to the ideal of a great stay. I travelled with a group of friends 8 ppl in total and the general concensus was that this was a wonderful part of the overall trip. We went out on a boat around the islands and another day took to kayaking in the mangroves.
Only slight dissapointment was the demand for all passports at checkin. That was difficult as 5 of the group were Thai and did not have passports.

Room Tip: close to the beach

We had 4 rooms with them, the place is so fantastic with a well looked after tropical garden, nice and clean private beach and impressively wonderful sunset spot.

I felt a little bit annoyed when we checked in with one of the receptionists and she asked us with arrogant attitude ( maybe she is so proud of working with a good resort) for all passports and Thai ID's of 9 people of us, this is UNACCEPTIBLE!!, I felt it was not welcoming hospitality and professional!!!. I insisted to be responsible for all expenses, occurred with only my passport which we normally use this policy on our hospitality career.

Anyway, Krabi is too nice to lock ourselves at the resort, there are many places to see and things to do, so their bad service couldn't spoil our holiday.
If you enjoy the nice and varied breakfast, this is the place you might be looking for.

Enjoyed Krabi, we'll definitely go back again and trying a better place with better service though we have to pay more to keep ouselves satisfied.

We had friends suggest we stay at the Amari Vogue on this beach but after seeing the $150 price tag we did more research. This hotel was way beyond our expectations for much less than $100/ night. . We booked a deluxe beachfront for 6 nights which was absolutely perfect. The rooms are very clean and have the necessities of any 4 star hotel: refridgerator, comfortable bed, large bath, open air shower, great toiletries, bathrobes, etc. This hotel has the most beach front property of all the hotels on this beach. ( there are 5 hotels) It is very beautiful and the sunsets are the best we have seen ever! (Including many other Thailand beaches) I highly recommend bringing or buying in town, blow up rafts for the beach. Our favorite moments were floating without a care in the world.
The pool is clean and nice. There appears to be a jacuzzi but it wasn't heated. Who needs that in such heat anyways? The pool does not have an ocean view due to the new beach cottages. Either way it was so refreshing on hot days. The beach has many padded lounge chairs, shaded and not. I have seen many complaints on here about the distance to Ao Nang. A) I agree with a few posts that you shouldn't waste your time in Ao Nang. B) if you need to get there in order to go to other islands, book a moped! The front desk always has them available. The motorbikes are only 350'baht for 24 hours and we had a great time using one to get around. We went to Ao Nang one day to do a day trip to Phi Phi. Phi Phi was a bit of a letdown..... The beaches are much more crowded than the one outside our room at the Tup Kaek. Monkey beach was fun and beautiful though. We also left from Ao Nang one day to go to Railay for one day and night. The long taills are only 100 baht but you have to wait until they get 8 passengers to leave. Railay was beautiful but again, over crowded. We also booked a half day trip to the hong islands trough the long tails just down the beach. It was 1700 baht for 2 ppl with our own boat. Those beaches were beautiful. Go early to avoid crowds!
Other miscellaneous info: Breakfast was great! Omelette station, bacon, breads, fruit, coffee, yogurt, etc. As was lunch and dinner! We loved all the thai food at the restaurant, prices range from $4-9. The hospitality was wonderful! Nong, Joe and Woo were so kind! Amari vogue down the beach has a daily happy hour from 5:30-6:30- Buy one get one free On all drinks. Massages on the beach are 550- 600 Baht and completely worth it! We went to Klong Muang to stock up on snacks and cocktails but the drinks at the hotel are reasonably priced. If you are contemplating this area, this hotel is the best value!

Room Tip: Beachfront is the way to go- spend that little extra!

The Good - The resort's main attribute is its very quiet and peaceful location. It has a great beach and excellent access to Hong Island by longtail boat (20 minutes). You should spend a full-day at different locations on and around the island. This was definately the highlight of the Krabi stay, and the reason for choosing Tup Kaek Beach in the first place. There are reasonably priced, good quality meal options available at the on-site restaurant. The views at sunset are particularly magnificent.

The Bad - Facilities at the resort are pretty basic. The rooms also are nothing special, but were however, clean and comfortable.Noise from other guests can be a bit of a problem at night. This is probably more noticable here as the the rest of the time we could only hear the sea and the sound of the birds. Location is a bit isolated if you are looking for nightlife etc We wern't so the absence didnt bother us.

Room Tip: Short stays of up to three nights or so are probably more realistic than longer stays.

Had a few days here start of April. Ok so the hotel itself is very clean and well presented. We got upgraded to a room in the building by the
Pool which was very nice. Beach is stunning and the views of sunset are pretty special. It's very quiet and chilled out, we used as a base to visit hong island, we usually stop in Railay if we are in Krabi and we will be back there next year. Rooms was good, breakfast was ok. We felt a bit let down buy a large group of Russian people who wanted to jump around and make a lot of noise in the pool every night until 2am! Not the one you want in quiet area. By the looks of it all thou the whole Andaman side of Thailand had a heavy Russian influx now, make of that what you will. Also watch out for the grumpy woman on reception who said to me "well walk then" when I questioned the 400 baht charge for the 5 min run into town ! The taxi drivers and around here try and blag you everytime. All in all a 6/10 from us.

Innitially we book this trip for a couple vacation. However, it turned out to be a family vacation when we decided to bring our 10 year old. We book the trip through Air Asia Go Website. They seemed to have the best deal combined with flights from KUL, Malaysia. We spent 4 days 3 nights. It's about 700baht - 800baht by taxi. But we chose to rent a car since we wanted to explore the other parts of Krabi.

After booking the hotel for a couple, we communicated directly to the hotel about the change in number f pax. The hotel assured us that the room would have a single bed. So we were ok. However when we got there, we were given a room near the pool that was only for 2 pax. The hotel was kind enough to give us an extra rollaway bed at no charge and only charge us for child breakfast for our 10 year old.

The room is very nice and had a jacuzzi bathtub that our son enjoyed. However, the bathroom wall is glass so, you may have to hang a sarong if you don't want other people to see you in the bathroom. It would be perfect for couples!

The receptionist, Lin, was extremely helpful when we requested for assistance with the safe and travel tips.

The beach is quiet and you can arranged for massage at the beach for 600bahts onwards. We found the beach not so great as we have been spoilt in other islands. So,arranged a trip to Hong Islands. The hotel provided us with our own longtail boat, picnic basket and also towels. It was a little pricey compared to if you arranged yourself at the town but we found it convenient as we were too lazy to drive back to town (20 min drive) and the long tail boat picked us up right in front of your hotel beach. Snorkels were provided and the boatman was very amusing.

The food at the hotel is good. We don't eat pork but the hotel does served pork in their menus. We opt to eat the seafood options. The room service was good too. Service is up to Thai standards and as always we love to have the fruit shake when we are in Thailand. Must try the Phad Thai and Tom Yum Talay. Delicious.

All and all, we enjoyed our vacation. Would definitely come back. :)

Room Tip: Room at the pool is ideal for families. You may wanna choose one floor up if you want privacy. Take...

We spent a wonderfully relaxing week at Tup Kaek Sunset Beach Resort in Dec 2012 . We booked 2 interconnecting rooms as we are a family of 4, but feel that we could have coped with one. The rooms have a kingsize and single bed which are wonderfully comfortable. The rooms have a covered in porch where you leave your beach gear & we even put our suitcases there. The location of the resort is just beautiful - the view is magnificent. The sea is warm and calm and our children were able to play safely. The resort offers free use of kyaks for use in the bay. The b'fast is a buffet but after a week we would have appreciated a bit more variation but the location more than made up for that. We rented a car & went into Ao Nang on 2 evenings (approx 20mins) so glad we didn't stay there but it was nice for a bit of shopping and nightlife. The staff were very nice and helpful. Would we go back - definitely.
