Pros: Beautiful and quiet place. Amazing views of the sea and cliffs from the beach. Restaurant also offers great views of the sea and beach. We were pleasantly surprised how big our suite was!
Cons: Beach was dirty - twigs and dead leaves all around. Western and Vegetarian food options were limited.

Room Tip: Book a sea-view room... It's worth it!

We stayed at Tubkaak in late November for our last stop on our honeymoon and it was great. We had the Tubkaak suite, which is the pool villa on the beach and it was amazing! Sunny is a great resort manager and very helpful and friendly. He recommended a restaurant for us in town and it was great! We did a couple of excursions through the resort which we were very impressed with. Take advantage of the happy hour as there's the most beautiful sunset every night!

Room Tip: On the beach is the best!

We can highly recommend this resort.
We had a seaview room, but all rooms are nicely embedded in a lush garden.
Every detail in the rooms and in the garden has been arranged with great care.
Their two beautiful restaurants (one Italian "Di Mare" and one Thai "Arundina") are both situated directly at the beach.
The quality of the food was in both delicious, but the Di Mare is even for a resort restaurant overpriced. Contrary to the Arundina you can not order local water, just Evian. That is simply not acceptable!
In The Arundina you can book a table directly in the sand - for 1,000 Baht extra...
But there are several other tables with a great view.
The Tubkaek beach is wonderful and the direct view on the Hong Islands is breathtaking!
This is not the case for the resorts lying south of Tupkaek beach.
The water can recede quite far at low tide, but you can still swim. There are no rocks in the water in front of the hotel, so you can easily walk out to reach the water.
Staff has been very nice except for at the ladies at the reception. Airport shuttle is quite expensive at 1,200 baht, so try to find other people to share the minivan.
This resort is perfect for relaxing, but Bear in mind that there is no village, no shops, nor motorbike rentals nearby, so you are pretty much depending upon the hotel. But if that is less of a concern for you, then you a great hotel at a really lovely beach.

I just left this resort and I miss it already. The setting is perfectly gorgeous, the rooms warm inviting and spa like. The service was impeccable and everyone was so friendly. The spa although expensive was fantastic. Although this hotel is in the upper range of pricing I thought it was well worth it. Had an amazing time for the 5 days I spent here, was very hard to leave! The only thing I could say needed improvement would be a little more selection at the breakfast, but it was still totally acceptable.

The Tubkaak as everyone has written already, is a beautiful haven in an idyllic location. Very cleverly designed and constructed between the jungle and the beach, the property is lovingly maintained by really nice staff that care. Rooms are stylish and simple and those on the upper levels have wonderful banquettes on the balconies giving them a tree house quality. There is a free minibar with beer, water and soft drinks and fresh fruit is left in the rooms daily. Housekeeping was the best I had experienced in Thailand. The private beach, with soft white sand, is just outstanding; I had to pinch myself on the first morning. Being in a conservation area there are no beds on the beach, but the hotel provided large cushions. If there was one drawback it would be the price of food and drink in the restaurants, which given that Ao Nang is a 30 minute shuttle away and so you are captive, is very expensive. A pizza and a glass of wine cost 900 Baht (£18), which for Thai prices generally is extortionate. Also, if you are signing drinks bills to your room make sure you sign for each round, otherwise you may find one or two extras added! Despite that, I could not give the Tubkaak any less than a five star, a little bit of paradise for a romantic holiday.

Room Tip: The best rooms are the ones on the first floor, sea view or not.

My husband and I got married at the Tubkaak resort in Krabi in December 2013 and there is really only one word for me to describe the entire package that we experienced which is FANTASTIC! There were 18 people in our group and everybody gave only positive feedback about their stay at the resort.
The resort, and in particular, the receptionist Khun Siraporn was so helpful from day 1, which was in about January 2013. We kept email contact throughout the year to make all of the arrangements for our wedding. I could count on the fact that if I sent an email of an evening I would wake up to a response which always contained helpful information. She was kind enough to book outside transfers, videograpaher, registrar and many more helpful services for us.
All staff at the resort were extremely helpful and kind. The manager Sunny was excellent and performed our wedding ceremony; he even upgraded us to an amazing suite which could not have been more luxurious.
All of the rooms were lovely that I saw our guests were staying in. The only complaint was a slight smell possibly of damp in the lower room of one of the garden rooms but this is not surprising in the climate and time of year that we visited either.
The food at the resort is very high quality, although some of the things are highly priced for Thailand, you can expect this in a luxury resort.
We got a taxi to and from Krabi town one evening which I think cost tbh700 which is not a bad price in my opinion so if you still want to be able to go out to party this is definitely possible. However the resort itself is definitely aimed to offer an extremely relaxing time and is a very romantic getaway spot.
If you are thinking of having a holiday or a wedding here DO IT! This might be the only holiday I actually came home from feeling relaxed, and that was only a 3 night stay in this resort and as I have said we had 18 guests which included both sets of parents,,,who are all quite picky people too!
Thank you to the staff for an amazing time, we really couldn't have asked for more for our big day :)

Room Tip: When reading the reviews before booking myself I read about building work going on which I took into...
