We stayed one week with our family at Nakamanda and where completly enthusiastic ! The entire complex is very nicely integrated in the landscape with lovely plants, you feel like in á botanic garden. The room-interior is very tasteful, spacious and convenient. We can recommend the shuttle service to the hotel, which received us already at the airport with cold drinks and towels. We where welcomed in the lobby with fresh drinks, meanwhile the baggage was consigned in our rooms. The whole staff was very polite and skilled, always looking to do the best serve.Specially Mr. Oat and Mr. Book where fantastic, preparing our day at the beachside area, always serving fresh water and taking care about anything. So they organized á wonderful trip with á long-tail-boat, which is highly recommended - it was fantastic !
Same for the restaurant, we cannot imagine á nicer place seaside for having á sun-downer or
diner. The quality of food was excellent - as al the kitchen staff, with its Chief Mr. Wutdy and all the others. We already miss it very much !

Such an incredible place to spend some days or even your holydays!!!
The hotel was more than you can imagine. Super nice room, great food (if you want something cheaper just have to cross the road) and the best of this hotel, its people. We stay in 6 different hotels in Thailand and altgought in each of them we found nice people, the people that works in this hotel is amazing, congrats!!!!
Special mentioning for the people in the swimmingpool that made even better something that already was perfect

A wonderful place for relaxing. The resort is built in Thai style little house, what gives you the feeling of staying in an apartment rather than in a hotel room. Very tasteful architecture and furniture. The many steps make the special character of this place.
The staff reads every wish from your eyes and is always helpful. Special thanks to Book and Oat, the pool team, and Wutdy and his restaurant team! They made your stay unforgettable. We spend many hours at the seaside restaurant and enjoyed the delicious food. We all are looking forward to coming back soon.
The resort is very well managed. Compliments!

We were just there a few days and had a great stay. Hotel is neat and in a lovely location but not close to Krabi town and transport is not easily available apart from tuktuks.. We ate in hotel restaurant and it was quite expensive.. Although good taste, ridiculously small portions! A real pity because the staff is super friendly, smiling and v helpful even though most of them do not speak well english. True Thai hospitality at its best!! The hotel management has obviously not understood that they are losing a lot of money cause guests go acoss the street to a very good and affordable Thai restaurant, which we strongly reccommend.

All in all a very good experience! We reccommend this nice Nakamanda resort...

Just hope the Management changes the restaurant issue, which we were aware off before from many other comments here.

My boyfriend and I booked a Sala Villa at Nakamanda in January for our stay in August. Having only spoken to the Nakamanda team once (which is during email booking), they have everything sorted for us upon arrival. We were picked up by a nice private car at the airport immediately after touching down and were given towel and water in the car to freshen up. After a 30 minutes drive, we arrived at the hotel and we were given welcome drinks and were asked to sit down at the lounge while the staffs check us in. Luggages were brought to the villa for us by the staffs and we were a given a nice tour around Nakamanda. Arriving at our villa, it was just breathtaking - villa looks as the picture depicts - no exaggeration, it was just perfect with our villa facing the sea. We are eternally grateful to Sue who went out of her way to arrange with local fishermen to bring us to Hong island during our stay (unfortunately, during monsoon season).

Activities may be limited in the villa but it was very relaxing as we did not have to worry about a single thing - there is excellent spa and jacuzzi services at the spa, fantastic swimming pool and loungers, gym and a library equip with computers and books. You can also rent DVDs from the reception for free.

The only downside I would say is that the beach is average. even walking to the left or right of Nakamanda, but fret not, there are many beatiful islands in Krabi to explore. Also have to highly recommend the ban bo thor half day kayaking trip that we booked with the hotel. Fantastic as we actually get to kayak to caves and then explore the caves before kayaking again.

Overall, I would say the trip advisor reviews are absolutely justified- Nakamanda is excellent and a true SLH that takes care of its visitors very very well. We are very glad we chose Nakamanda because it gave us the quietness, tranquillity and a feeling that we owned the entire place as we rarely see people around. Absolute worth of money for the Honeymoon package.
