The Beyond was quite a good value in the green season. We got a free upgrade to a Villa, but it seemed everybody gets this because the cottage rooms are not ready yet(?). The hotel is obviously running for 4 months and I noticed quite a few things are not ready yet or not organized. There were no informations at all in the room and there were very few signs. When we were shown to the room, there was no information whatsoever from the employees. No mentioning about breakfast or restaurant. I didn't even know the way to the beach even if I could see the beach. So in fact you have no idea what facilities the hotel actually has! From the Villas to the Lobby you have to walk quite a detour even if the building is just next to the Villas. So there should be some side entrance. The same in the building itself. In the middle there is a door going out to nowhere. Why not making a small path as a short cut to the pool.

Else the room was lovely; spacy, modern and a nice bathroom. The planting around the villas is very nice too, there could be a bit more around the pool, especially on the slope facing the main building. The pool was good and big, as was the beach. Swimming in the sea was good as long you don't try at low tide. Breakfast buffet was ok, but nothing special. Wifi (free) worked pretty well. Splendid view from the lobby.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for recently staying with us. Thank you also for having taken the time to post a review.

We are glad to read that in general you enjoyed your stay with us. Upgrades are not given to all guests. We did some works on the cottages and we did not occupy the units nearby. Others cottages were occupied.

Our Kanda Spa is now completed. We have also completed our beach front Thai massage salas and we will open these soon for treatments.

We are also further upgrading the landscaping around the swimming pool area.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused for not having provided any information about the resort facilities and services in your room. While we are completing our welcome booklet with all information, there is supposed to be a welcome letter in your room explaining the facilities and services with opening times and other information. Again, I am sorry that this letter was not in your room and I ensure that this does not reoccur.

The signage around the property as well as property maps will be completed soon. We are also looking at an alternative access to the swimming pool and beach area.

Thank you again for your comments. We keep working hard on further completing the last few facilities.

Kind regards,
Claude
General Manager

This hotel has been open for around 4 month. A few minor construction work still going on at the moment but it looks that they will be over soon. We got an upgrade and where happy with the spacey room. The pool area is big and has a lovely wide seaview. Beach was better than expected as we read that it's not the best beach around Krabi. A little bit stoney around the little island right of the hotel at low tide. Take care not to slip on wet rocks. Its nice to swim at high tide. Breakfast ok. There is not a lot of tropical garden around pool but lovely green areas around villa rooms. You don't get any information when you arrive and there are no infos in the room about breakfast times or other things good to know. Taxi prices are very high for Thailand. Stiff 500 b from Aonang. There are more restaurants around than we expected. Good eating address: Ruean Siam Restaurant. Short walk along beach left from Beyond.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for recently staying with us and also for having taken the time to post a review.

We are glad to read that in general you enjoyed your stay at Beyond Resort Krabi. We got delayed with the completion of a few areas around the property and we had to speed up the progress during this October. I am sorry if these works have caused some disturbance. Our Kanda Spa is now completed. We have also completed our beach front Thai massage salas and we will open these soon for treatments. All noisy works have been completed.

We are also further upgrading the landscaping around the swimming pool area.

I am sorry to read that you had no information about the resort facilities and services in your room. I appreciate your comment on the taxi prices and we are reviewing the costs and we will reduce the price in the very near future.

Thank you again for your comments. We will be delighted to welcome you back to Beyond Resort Krabi in the future.

We visited the beyond resort a few months back. It had recently opened but all the services available were great. The location is great as it is not stuck in the middle of a tourist busy area. In fact the beach is only accessible for the hotel guests. The room was clean, large and comfortable with a view to die for (you can even see the sea with the islands from your toilet :)
The restaurant was fine, it wasn't very busy and the hotel was just opening so not much was going on but the lunch and breakfasts we had were tasty and promptly served. The best for me was their beach bar, where after a nice long afternoon swim I would go into the jacuzzis that are sunken in the pool and had a beer (in an unbreakable glass) while watching the sun go down. The prices of the drinks and food were very reasonable and with the great location, there was no justifications of walking 20 mins in the hot weather to buy drinks from the local shop to save a 1.30 euros per beer. The resort is set on very large grounds and has a very well equipped gym. There are some nice bungalows in the resort which look great for families and couples that love to live it up. We were met by the GM on arrival and also caught up with him at the pool, it is great to see hotel's where top management still takes the time to interact with the guests.
All in all we had a great time, we also ate at Ao Nang a few times and in some local seafood restaurants.

My girlfriend and I stumbled across this resort by default when searching online for somewhere nice to stay in Krabi. We did not realize it was brand new, hence why it was not easy to find. Anyway, well please that we did.

We stayed here the last week of September 2012, the resort is very chic, and has everything there you need for a cool, comfortable and relaxing break. The breakfast's are very nice, and food menu albeit succinct at the moment, covers most tastes, the food is lovely, and the prices extremely reasonable for a hotel as well.

We stayed in a Deluxe Sea View room, which was a nice size, very modern, and with nothing short of as an amazing a view as you will ever find from a hotel room in our opinion. The swimming pool is quite gorgeous, and the beach so clean and immaculate. It was amazing watching hundreds of little crabs running away from you and then burrowing for cover back into the sand!

The resort was quiet, and with more of a buzz in the future would be even better. It already seems to be attracting a fairly young crowd, but after assessing the facilities, would equally suit families with young children.

On Krabi itself, Klong Muang beach from what we saw was way nicer than Ao Nang and Noppharatara, and actually, way, way nicer in fact and Ao Nang seemed a bit of a dump to be honest. Of course, Ao Nang is more lively in the evenings, and you may wish to head there as we did. If I have one slight criticism of Beyond Resort, they do currently offer a one-way transportation service down to Ao Nang beach which costs the same one-way as it was costing us in a return taxi journey if like us, you negotiate well and use the same taxi driver during your stay. Other hotels offer a much cheaper shuttle service, and I hope that Beyond will also in the future.

Even so taxi's in Krabi are ridiculously expensive for the part of the world you are in. The advertised rate from Klong Muang to Ao Nang is 500 Baht one-way (£10/€12/$16) for a simple 10 minute ride, and more than I would pay in a city like Manhattan for example, but we ended up paying a still pricey 40% less than this with our old mate Chan!

If you are looking for a luxury stay in Krabi, you will have to stay on Klong Muang, as the Ao Nang hotels simply did not seem to match up. Railey where we did not really go, did not seem that great either in terms of accommodation standards unless you stayed at 5* Rayavdee Resort, which would have cost us the same for one night, as 5 nights at Beyond!

In conclusion, Beyond is a definite visit again property, and we were already discussing when we would return next year before we even left! The staff, including Claude the General Manager were extremely welcoming, kind, genuinely friendly and very helpful and understanding when we required assistance....so, huge thanks go out to all of them.

The weather was not the greatest during all of our trip, but this did not totally 'dampen' a lovely stay in a fantastic new hotel. I would also not be put off by the location, as Klong Muang Beach is quite an upper class area of Krabi, it is quiet, safe, and there are a number lovely restaurants, massages, and handy convenience stores very close by.

Oh, one last criticism and not of the hotel itself, but a commercial one of the owners the Kata Group, and quite a major one at that - when you launch a hotel as truly amazing as this, you really should also launch a website alongside it that fully reflects and promotes it. Theirs in no way highlights this beautiful property or justifies it's qualities in any way to the extend it could and should. I hope that the presentation I have knocked-up helps to do that instead, as from simply viewing the hotel website, I would have viewed booking this property as too much of a risk, and would probably have stayed at the Sheraton next door which was nice, but for value, access to the beach, modern living and the views simply cannot compete in my opinion.

I travel all round the world for business and pleasure, always plump for modern/chic, and for the price, this hotel easily rates right up there as one the very best I have experienced.

Enjoy, and hope to maybe even see you there some time!!!

Paul.

Room Tip: Sea View is worth the premium.

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for your recent stay with us. Also a very big thank you for the very extensive review on Tripadvisor. We very much appreciate the time you have invested into sharing your experience at Beyond Resort Krabi as well as of the surrounding areas with other readers.

I have noted your comment on the prices of the shuttle transfer to Ao Nang. We are in the process of reviewing the costs involved in these transfers and we will soon implement lower rates. Costs of personnel and operating vehicles are also increasing in this part of Thailand but I am sure we can reduce the prices.

Thank you also for your comment on our web-site. We are working on improvements already.

Your very kind comments about our staff and the team in general have been noted. We appreciate that you have highlighted this and I have shared these comments with the team.

Thank you also for the valuable tips about the surroundings of the resort which I am sure other readers will find interesting.

We now have a new Executive Chef on board and he is working on further expanding our menus. In about a month time, we will implement a great menu for @ Beach Bar & Restaurant. This venue will certainly become a favorite dining spots for our guests.

Thank you again for your complete review. We will be delighted to welcome you back to Beyond Resort Krabi in the not too distant future.

Kind regards,
Claude
