This restaurant is in a perfect place on the Spring River and in beautiful Mammoth Spring. Dining inside or out, they have a big deck so you can dine outside and admire the river. The menu is good too, a little of everything. It's a very comfortable and attractive place.

We eat at Riverbend frequently. The staff is very prompt and pleasant, the facility is CLEAN, and their menu usually includes specials for each phase of daily dining. Food is always fresh and prepared to our liking. There are a few other restaurants nearby who serve the same offerings (breakfast/lunch/dinner) too, but Riverbend is head & shoulders above them all. I guess you'd say we would certainly recommend this establishment.

The good/great: Service was friendly and efficient. View from the deck was absolutely delightful. We would visit again on the strengths of those two attributes.

The bad: the food. ugh. We are not picky eaters, but this was bad stuff. We both had the "special" ($7.29) and both selected chicken & dressing with three vegetables. Dressing had a strange off-taste...sort of like Lysol. I know it was not Lysol, but it was a turn off. About a tablespoon of diced chicken was on top. Very salty dish. Candied yams, out of a can, previously-frozen broccoli with fake cheese sauce and brown beans. Husband said his mashed potatoes and green beans were "all right". He compared it with school cafeteria food.

I bet, for the wonderful ambiance, breakfast is a much better bet.

I grew up in this area and now live in Connecticut (NYC area). This is where most people I know go for breakfast on the weekend, even after being gone for several years. Compared to New England prices, the cost is very low, though not as much so as some of the "off the map" places you'll find in other parts of the Ozarks. You can get fried frog legs if you're adventurous, or fried chicken if you want something that's still traditional but a little "safer."

Most of the portions are big, so you can split pretty much everything. The staff is always super sweet and don't be surprised if you're called Hon or Sugar by some of the waitresses (it's a southern thing). Save room for pie or go around the corner to the "Spring Dipper" a local scoop shop for some homemade ice-cream.

Stopped here for a late breakfast. Service was very good - fast and friendly.

Food was ok, a little pricey for what we got.

The patio had a beautiful view, although they still allow smoking in restaurants so that was a little disappointing.
