Excellent menu, food cooked and served to perfection, excellent service, lovely atmosphere, and simple, unpretentious decor. Jonathan Jones, the owner/chef is very hands-on and engages with his guests... Family, friends and I have visited on many occasions for breakfast lunch and dinner; never disappointed...

Quo recently moved to larger premises in Gillitts Durban. It has been tastefully decorated in a minimalist Scandinavian style. The menu has an eclectic of superbly cooked and presented dishes at reasonable prices. The only negative would be the acoustics which make it a bit noisy as there are no soft furnishings to absorb the sound.

We had a wonderful meal and evening here. This restaurant deserves its number one slot. It is situated up behind a garage in an anonymous square of shops with no indication of its existence unless you know the area or have it's address to lead you there.

We had mussels and prawns and salads to begin each bringing smiles to the recipients. I had a simple prawn linguine as a main course that was simply delicious with that emulsion in the faint tomato sauce that only comes with too much butter - bad but so lovely. Everyone else chose wisely from a menu that has pronounced asian influences. Good fusion...not the current barmy marriage of ingredients and styles that should never be together on the same plate. This restaurant is about restraint and simple excellence.

I had a bread and butter pudding (shared with 3 others). It looked OK...I cut into it and it began to run over the plate; I thought this was some under cooked lapse. However, a second look showed this was crème anglaise on the plate...and as I was later told mixed with melted white Belgian chocolate. It was utterly delicious.

Yesterday was our first visit to Quo, we battled to find it as we are from PMB and dont know the area very well, but the search was well worth it. I dont think i have every had such outstanding mussels. It should be their star dish. The owner/Chef was outstanding explained all the dishes to us and finally suggested a combination of starters, almost like a tapas. What a good idea we had an excellent Sunday lunch. Although they dont have a children's menu the Chef offered to cook 'anything' for our granddaughter. i would have settled for her meal of roast chicken and potatoe wedges it was outstanding. Quo is almost half way between Pmb and Durban so will be our go to restaurant when meeting Durban family and friends. I am looking forward to our next visit which will be in the evening and hopefully under the trees. I highly recommend Quo.
