Alpine village restaurant with a modern twist.
Best veal and best fondue ever !
Friendly staff.
Efficient service.
Great value for money as you are just next to Gstaad 85min) but at reasonable prices.
They have alpine bands to play regularly.
Very relaxed atmosphere.

We stayed for one night from 9-10th March and found the hotel to be extremely good value for money, especially in this expensive area where hotels are in general overpriced. The room was very comfortable, modern and clean. Beds were very comfortable and we slept extremely well. The breakfast was extremely good....worthy of a five star hotel in quality and choice was very good. All in all, a very good address to keep and worth recommending.

Really friendly staff, rooms are spacious and modern, comfortable beds, nice view in quiet Saanen. The restaurant was good as well and staff efficient. Really cozy place you would stay for many days. Apparently you can access to a swimming pool which is outside the hotel. Car park easy access.

We stayed at hotel Landhaus for a few days of skiing, excited by the very positive reviews despite the quite expensive offer. In reality, it is more of a business hotel than a Swiss chalet. Not appropriate to go skiing as there is no proper ski room and you need your car to reach the slopes. The restaurant however offers a wide selection of dishes at a reasonable price and with a friendly service. The fitness center it located at an other chalet, it is pretty good but you need your car to get there.

Details:

- No lobby/living room
- Room with basic furnitures, one small window, no decoration
- lack of sound isolation: you can hear the discussions of the neighbouring rooms
- As pointed in another review, the curtains are too thin and let the light coming in the morning
- Slippery parking: thick layer of ice on the parking place. No staff to notice it

+ Good restaurant with friendly service
+ Good breakfast

The Hotel Landhaus is located in the heart of Saanen, a picture postcard town surrounded by mountains. Our renovated room at the rear of the hotel was spotless, spacious, quiet and comfortable. Two windows allowed plenty of light and views of the chalets nearby and the mountains beyond. The windows have pull down shutters for darkening the room. ++The bedside lamps were bright enough for reading. The renovated bathroom with tub was spotless. Breakfast is in their charming wood beam and board restaurant. The buffet offered croissants, hearty breads, local cheeses, cold meats, muesli, juice, fresh fruit salad, yogurt and boil your own eggs. Very fresh, very healthy. The staff were friendly and attentive. We looked forward every evening to returning to this hotel after a day of walking in the mountains or sightseeing.

Saanen is a convenient base for sightseeing in the nearby towns of Gstaad, Rougemont and Chateau d'Oex. We timed our stay in this region to coincide with the alp festival in Etivaz. The flower festooned cows, the alphorn players, the 'trychlers', the many cheese and sausage makers offering tastings - it was a marvellous, delicious, and memorable experience of a Swiss tradition.
