We took a trip to see Bull Shoals as part of our trip to Branson. The lady at the visitors center recommended Gaston's restaurant. We went at 3:30 on a Sun. afternoon, so we had the place practically to ourselves. Service was very good. View was beautiful. We enjoyed watching the boats and people fishing. The cabins looked quaint, might be nice to come for a fishing trp over a long weekend. Back to the restaurant, the food was very average. I suspect that most of their food is of the frozen variety. I had the open faced roast beef sandwich. The mashed potatoes while not powdered were not made from fresh potatoes, probably frozen. The roast beef was not freshly carved, again it was better than dell meat but probably heat and serve from frozen. The gravy was not good at all. Way too salty, tasted like gravy made from a powdered mix. They did have Cheesecake Factory cheesecake which was delicious! Overall... A bit overpriced for frozen food.
