I stayed at New Garden Hotel in the middle of July 2013. This was just a couple months after my first stay there. Not a lot has changed since my last review. The service is still great. The staff is super friendly and the rooms were up to par. My only two complaints this time around was that the WiFi was constantly in and out and the early morning construction on the top floor. The WiFi wasn't a huge deal, because I didn't rely on it that much during my stay, but if I did need it, it would have been a big issue for me. Fortunately, they fixed the issue a couple days before I checked out. I'm gonna have to say that Wifi, in Sosua period, isn't all that great. This goes for in the hotels and in nearby restaurants who offer it. So, if you rely on internet heavily, your chances are gonna be hit or miss no matter where you stay in Sosua. Finally, there was the construction that was going on the top floor. The noise was unbearable in the morning. I'm not very fussy when it comes to noise, but some mornings were really bad, especially when you had a long night of partying and wanted to try to sleep in and reenergize yourself for the following day. I was wondering why NO ONE at the hotel even bothered to mention that the hotel was under construction via email or when you pay for your rooms. That's something that can totally ruin the experience for some people. Hopefully, it won't be going on for much longer, because I still plan on coming back in a few months. Other than that, everything was on point. The hot water, A/C, TV and safes still worked. Plus, the ladies in the lobby were still friendly, but not too friendly. I'll be back at New Garden for sure.

This was my first stay at New Garden Hotel. My first two stays in this town was at Casa Cayena, which was a nice place, but was full when I tried to book it for my third trip. New Garden seems a little more inviting when you first walk in. Once you pass the front desk, you have tables, beach chairs and a pretty pool in front of you. There's almost always some "friendly" women in the lobby and they wont pay you any mind unless you want them to. Breakfast is great and it's free before 11am, but sometimes you can get the staff to make an exception for you if you oversleep. My only complaint is that if you sit at a table too close to the front of the hotel, some of the beggars passing by outside will harass you, but it's never excessive. The rooms are very neat and clean and the hot water works just fine. Like other hotels in the town, you don't really know if you're gonna get a double or a single with a king-sized bed, unless you remember to ask. I'm not a picky person, either one was fine for me. Everything seemed to work just fine from the WiFi to the A/C. The safes worked just fine, but I had to be very careful with using mine, because the batteries inside weren't secured. If you accidentally slam the safe door, one of the batteries might pop out inside and who knows if you'll be able to get back in. All of the staff was great and very polite. Before I stayed at New Garden, I heard that they were very liberal there and can be too loud at night. This was not the case when I was there. I slept like a baby every night. I'm planning another trip in a couple months and plan on staying at New Garden again.

If you are looking to be right in the middle of things this is the place to be! It's a 5 minute walk from the beach, the restaurants and all the bars/clubs. Nick is the man too at the hotel and all the staff is great. I will definitely be back.

Each year for the past three (3) years we (family members & friends) have stayed (10 to 18) at the New Garden Hotel. The location is great, the food is good, the rooms are clean, and I have stayed on the first floor and the upper floors. You can walk to every place you need to visit,i.e.bank, westen union, grocery stores, and clubs. Security is great in Sosua and atthe hotel. We played golf at three (3) courses and went deep sea fishing. We are planning a 2013 trip.

I've stayed here a total of 3 times, and it's good for location and you meet a lot of cool people. However, the only things i don't like is the constant bugging and nagging from the girls that sit around the pool area. Also, the bed sheets are like curtains. It's like they ran out of blankets and tore the curtains off the windows and used them as blankets. Very rough and not comfortable. The mini fridge could be bigger, and the TV's...come on New Garden, it's time for flat screens. The price is kind of high, $60 dollars a night. The majority of hotels around Sousa are going for about $40 dollars. The breakfast is ok, not the best in the world like i hear some people saying. I mean it's an average breakfast, eggs, toast, bacon, hashbrowns, no biggie. SOmetimes the weekend crowds come in from New York and really raise a bunch of trouble.
THe pool is very nice, but very cold.
Oh the outside bathroom is WAY better than the bathroom in the room itself! The owner is also very stand offish, i've never said a word to him, nor has he said anything to me. He could definately be a little bit more friendly.

Room Tip: First floor is ideal

Dear Customer,
we want to respond to her complaints.
1) The breakfast is one of our strengths, abundant and moderate price;
2) There are hotels that cost less? Fine, but ask yourself why;
3) The owner is not part of the staff and when the hotel is often
because it is called. For this reason it is often in a hurry and, at times, can not
entertaining clients. Surely if she had presented him for sure the
He would respond with kindness ... but as said even she has ever
spoken;
4) The fridge is ideal for rooms that we have;
5) The linens are of very good quality, we should not be here to tell you what material
They are made;
6) The TVs are flat-screen ALL;
7) The pool water temperature does not depend on us but on the condition
weather.
Greetings.

Stayed at the hotel on recent trip to sosua . The hotel gave a decent breakfast and had adequate amenities. Service is great. They help you get around and went out there way to exchange money. Every thing is walking distance. Definitely would stay again.
