My wife and I with our two daughters aged 17 and 20 have recently returned from two glorious weeks over Christmas and the new year at Casa Serena. Our hosts Richard and Richi made us very welcome on our arrival and were never too far away, which made us feel very comfortable.

Casa Serena, or the ‘white house’ is within easy reach of the town of Sosua and the beach, in fact just a short motoconch ride, which our daughters can highly recommend. The town has a variety of places to eat and drink, which we found to be lively and very friendly.

Casa Serena is a beautiful house in a stunning location with peaceful surroundings. The pool and cabana provide a relaxing setting for day and night with free use of the BBQ.

The island itself provides many points of interest and there are a wide range of activities available. Our eldest daughter is planning to return in March to further explore the diverse culture of the island as well as to enjoy a quiet, relaxing holiday.
We would like to wish Richard and Richi all the very best with their little island gem

My partner and I stayed at Casa Serena over Christmas 2005 for one week. We absolutely loved this secluded home from home. We had never been to the Dominican Republic before, so we wanted to have a safe, clean and relaxing place to call home for our weeks stay there.

We really did'nt want to stay in an all inclusive resort, we wanted somewhere were we could relax and be ourselves, and did'nt want to feel fenced in, and with the added bonus of being picked up from the airport on arrival, we definitely chose the right place!

Although the stunning white house was only a short 'motoconcho' ride away (exciting and cheap way to travel) once we were back at casa serena's pool and cabana area, the busy town could'nt have felt further away. And as there are only 3 letting rooms at the house, you really do get a lot of privacy.

The super host's Richard and Richie were on hand all the time, and really made us feel welcome. And on the morning's that we felt like staying put on our private sun terrace at the top of the house, they were more than happy to prepare breakfast,(a choice of fruits, cereal, toast, eggs and bacon)and bring it up to us, and the dominican coffee is wonderful! For lunch and dinner, sosua is packed with bars and restuarants, with a great choice of cuisine, from traditional dominican to an american style diner.

The swimming pool at the house is a welcome change from the beaches in sosua, we had it to ourselves most of the time, and in the evening, Richard and Richie were happy to put the underwater lights on so we could swim under the stars!

If you're looking for an independent,
beautifully chilled out, relaxing, friendly, open minded, not to mention value for money guest house in the dominican republic, then look no further than Casa Serena..we were sorry to leave!

Just a few words for our wonderful hosts, Richard & Richie. My boo, Laura, and I spent two wonderful weeks (7/15-7/29) in the northern coastal city of Sosua. Spending it in our 'white castle' was the most spectacular trip either of us had taken. The beautifully well kept garden and the solitude of the swimming pool left an indelible impression on us.
From the evening we arrived our hosts made us feel right at home. Their constant attention to our needs was such a comfort and we wish them ALL the success in the world with the little "Gem of the north coast."
We stayed in the studio style/kitchenette in the back portion of the compound; and it couldn't have been more perfect. Running water, cool tiled floors, cable tv, and all the ammenities to cook.
Cheers to our friends you've done a heck of a job!!

Michael & Laura
