Tony your passion for good food and service shine through. So great to see Tony in his new location in the centre of Cabarete. You've created an oasis with a wonderful ambience and a good variety of both Dominican and other foods. The pasta was fantastic. Skipped dessert because there was simply no room after the filling main dish. My husband was delighted with the fish. Most of all I liked the smile on Tony's face...he is clearly loving his new location and is anxious that we all do too. Great to see you Tony and can't wait to visit again.

This is an excellent restaurant but by no means is, as described by other reviewers, a typical Dominican restaurant. like many other restaurants in Cabarete, they do serve a few typical Dominican dishes, but for the most part, it is international cuisine.

I had chicken curry; my husband had filet mignon with mushroom sauce. Neither plate is typical Dominican. Our two entrees plus a glass of house wine and a bottle of club soda for just $25 (US).

The owner, Tony, a well known Dominican restauranteur and businessman in this area, has done again a marvelous job in setting up this new location-a small entrance right next to the Banco Progreso plaza (in front of Dick's bakery). Very nice decor inside with great paintings and sitting area, and a much larger outdoor dining area in a garden setting.

Our food was very good, the ambiance wonderful, and excellent service, not to mention great prices. We will definitely return to Buena Vida for dinner.

This is Tony's third restaurant location in the center of Cabarete, located next to the Chinese restaurant, across from the Dick's German Bakery.

I just finished eating a chicken, rice, beans and salad from Buena Vida and it was as good as any I have had, and I love the dish. I paid 150 pesos at lunch, although it is 300 pesos at night and a larger portion.

Service is excellent and the back courtyard seating is surrounded by lush vegetation and very quiet, yet just off Cabarete's busy street. There is a full menu of meat, chicken and fish dishes and wonderful rice dishes. Tony and his staff will ensure you enjoy your meal.

We asked around for a place serving typical Dominican fare: rice and beans in particular. A bit of head scratching but we were eventually directed to Buena Vida. Turns out it only opened a couple of weeks before we arrived so word is still getting around I guess.

Ate a lunch there and came back two days later. Waiter offered menus and we just said "Lo mismo." Because we wanted the Dominica Tipico lunch again: savory chicken falling off the bones, rice with a bowl of beans to ladle on, small salad. We also had a side of tostones, good with ketchup or in the juices from the chicken. And a Presidente, of course.

Went again on our last day and had breakfast; fried polenta for me, sweet polenta for my companion. Both good, gotta say hers was better.
