“My favorite place in town...by far!”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

WOW what a great find. This is the real Dominican food experience right downtown in cabarete. A huge choice of dishes including the traditional and seafood comes from this humble kitchen. I recommend 'sancocho' the hearty soup made from vegetables and meat, also 'chivo guisado' stewed goat because they are difficult to find in most other places.
'batidos' or shakes are perfect here, in fact everything seems to be perfect; the service, atmosphere and the prices! Wow, I mean really!

“Dominican food at it's best.”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

Fed up with paying beach prices and want to try authentic Dominican food? For a quarter of what you pay for a meal on the beach you can enjoy this roadside Dominican diner that is a favorite with locals and the expats living and working in Cabarete. Try Pollo Guisado otherwise known as 'La bandera' Chicken rice and beans, the Dominican staple at it's best.

“Authentic Dominican Food”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

Service and atmosphere is close to nothing in this place, as it lies right next to the main road i Cabarete and can be very noisy. But still! It is a very popular restaurant amongst both tourists and locals, because the food is very good, authentic and cheap. One definately has to drop by if in Cabarete.

“Yum - this was comfort food at its best”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

We came here after a day of diving - we were starving and craving a big, hearty meal and this was PERFECT. Our dive center recommended the pork in sauce with beans and rice. A couple of us had that, the others had chicken. The salad had a great vinagrette on it and the best avocado slices. The pork was so tender, and the sauce was awesome mixed with the bean and rice. the menu was quite extensive - we would have loved to have had the time during our vacation to come back and try other dishes. Our server was very soft-spoken but took great care of our table. Thank you for our first Dominican meal and for completely exceeding our expectations!

“authentic!!”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

a few of us decided to go off the resort and walk around cabarete in hopes to do our taste buds a favor and search for some real dominican food and oh man, did we get lucky that day! we ordered 4 entrees and the the bill was super cheap, it was less than $30 USD!!! i absolutely recommend chuleta fritas (fried pork chops), chicharron de pollo (fried chicken), chicken in dominican sauce, and dominican steak. i can't figure out which dish i loved best. its too hard to come to a decision. i love them all! the rice and beans were delicious! i am usually not a fan of friend plantains but sandro made it so perfect that i ate most of it! absolutely recommend this restaurant without a doubt!!
