I can't say enough positively about Natura Cabana. The rooms, the staff and the resturants were exceptional. The hotel is not for everyone however--if you want the Holiday Inn box with halls this place isn't for you. The canabanas are unique and very quiet. There is a great spa and the yoga teacher is outstanding. There is the "action" of Cabarete close by but the hotel is an oasis of tranquility. You'll love it. I suggest that you rent a car to get around--there are plenty of "attractions" near by if you want them.

If you want to have the best time in the Dominican Republic, Natura Cabana is the place. Away from the crowds and noisy resorts, the Natura have a secluded, beatiful and private beach... a walk distance from other amazing beachs, even for surf and kite spots. Nice and spacious cabanas, the restaurant at nigth have a really amazing food and the staff is great! And have Spas facitilities and even yoga...
We loved!

Pretty bungalows blend with the trees and greenery, all are unique and give you plenty of privacy. Staff are very friendly at this small resort where you immediately feel at home. The best part of the hotel is the restaurant. The chef has trained at elBulli, one of the top restaurants in Spain. He talks to the restaurant clientele and it's immediately clear how enthusiastic he is about his food and trying to build a sustainable restaurant where the vegetables are grown on site (the garden is next to the yoga cabana) and fish is bought from the local fishermen. The hotel has a lovely sandy the beach and there is a path through the trees to the next few beaches along the coast.

Really excellent healthy, gourmet food. The yoga was wonderful. Fantastic instructor, very small classes with lots of individual attention.
The cabanas are beautiful and spacious. You can hear the ocean at night.
Running along the beach is transformative. You can ride horses along the beach as well.
15 minutes from the airport. Incredible, totally attentive staff.
Spa services are excellent.

The cabanas are absolutely beautiful, it is very quiet if that's what you want. However of you ever plan on leaving the hotel I don't recommend it. I had someone take me back at night and had a broken head light and they made me pay to have him in my cabana that already had two extra beds... The restaurant service was great, the dinner menu never changed, nothing comes out the way it sounded on the menu, the foods simple, and they were out of tons of stuff which made the already small menu worse (especially if you were to stay a few days) The "all girls surf and yoga retreat" is not at all what it sounds like. There is no schedule, the surfing is just partnered with a surf school and when we got picked up it was definitely not all girls ( not that it really mattered). There is no organization in the "retreat." usually when there are only two people signed up for something it would be common courtesy to say something. If you want to sit in a cabana, pool, or porch all day and not really experience the Dominican republic then you might enjoy it. There will probably only be 4-5 other people there. Oh and staff at the restaurant just sit on the other side of the bar and talk about you and look at videos and pictures on there cell phones while you wait for your check.
