Barefoot Beach Pad
Ranked #12 of 30 Cabarete B&B and Inns
Reviewed July 11, 2013

It has been only two weeks or so since I stayed at Barefoot Beach Pad, and I have yet to let go of the memories and intense desire to drop all life's responsibilities and return. The beauty of the location, the simplicity of the "pad" and the pure and humble kindness of the hosts will make you feel at home, surrounded by the comforts of family.

If waking up to the roar of the ocean and the glimmer of the morning sun on a azure swimming pool sounds at all enticing, make sure this is your next stop!

We were welcomed in June for a cousin's wedding snd truly wish we could have stayed at this hotel. We spent most of our trip at Barefoot due to all the events hosted but even when there was no event we would show up. The location is ideal, you have the ability to disconnect from everday stresses and kick back to enjoy the raw beauty of Domincan Republic. With the beach right in front of the place, and the view of mountains in the distance you can't help but connect to the land. The staff are the sweetest, the food and drinjs, delicious. Barefoot beach pad offers all you could hope for in a vacation and beyond. The wedding events were all beautiful and brought to life my cousins dream wedding. We'd love to go back for a couples retreat!

This is our second time coming to Barefoot and the moment we step in we decided this is were we are going to have our wedding. Once you walk through the wooden doors the sound of the beach surrounds you and are greeted by Andres. He provides your keys and assist with luggage. When you enter your guest room its ambiance lets you know you are on a vacation. With a cute kitchenette, spacious, clean, and an awesome balcony with a gorgeous view. Daily Housekeeping service by Andrea who also takes care of your ever need.

Planning on doing your wedding here? This is the perfect oasis for a beautiful wedding. The staff helped in every detail and made our dream wedding a reality. We rented out the hotel for the weekend for our family and friends stayed at near by hotels. We felt as though we were staying at a big house with all of our love ones. All of our guest had an amazing time and cant wait to make it back. The love in the air was magical and it was because of the amazing crew.

As for the wedding, I never felt stress or had any issues. Hector, the Hotel Manager, is a gem and adds spice to your trip. He really has a passion to serve his guest and ensure they have a fun and safe time. Janet, the wedding planner really makes everything easy and painless. She has connections with the Church, flowers, decorating, set-up, rehearsal dinner, Sunday morning brunch, and the list goes on. As for the food which was prepared by Chef Ben: rehearsal dinner with "Tapas" which came out amazing. Rich of flavor, colors, whimsical armories. Just awesome. and for the wedding we had a suckling pig the best I ever had, sunday brunch a traditional Dominican breakfast with a fruit smoothy that takes away an wedding hangover. All they provided for the week was fresh and prepared perfect. We are foodies and we felt as though we were eating at a 5 star restaurant. The most important component is Ben and Evelyn owners of the hotel who really gave the heart and soul to this wedding. May they know there efforts were always noticed and appreciated. We are eternally grateful for everything!

Overall, if you want a small intimate wedding and really what an amazing team than Barefoot Beach Pad is the perfect place. Our guest enjoyed the hotel so much a family reunion is being scheduled at the same location. As for the newly weds, we are certainly going to make a yearly tradition to come back!!

Thank you for everything!!!!
Very happy newlyweds

We just returned from our short trip to the Dominican Republic. We arrived extremely late because of the Caribe Tours bus (never do this! They say 3-4 hours when it took us 6 hours from Santo Domingo to Sosua) and Andres greeted us at the gate with our keys in hand. Even though there was a language barrier, they were extremely friendly and helpful. Andres called Hector, the owner, who was extremely accommodating and facilitated transportation for us to and from Cabarete for dinner. The next morning we woke up to the sun rising behind the crashing waves less than 100 feet from our room with a delicious breakfast prepared beside the pool at an open air bar.

We will be back to this paradise. I have included some things that we loved about the property.

Hector - The owner of the hotel that is very helpful. He is willing to help however he can to make sure your stay is enjoyable... Phone call for transportation, food recommendation, activities to do around the area, and a history of the area. A great asset to have access to in a country like this!

Small - 10 rooms total.

Isolated - the property is off the highway and surrounded by a block wall with large wooden doors

Beach - The water is only 100 feet from the property. The sand was soft and free of shells!

Pool - Beautiful infinity pool with a view of the ocean.

Rooms - They were large and included kitchens. One thing that I loved about our room was that the shower had a large window that opened to the beach.

The hotel is about 1.5 miles from the center of Las Terrenas and that can be good and bad. Good: Incredible views of the ocean. Peace and quiet and a large room. If you want to cook the kitchen is very nice. The guy who takes care of the property has a wonderfull energy and made me fell home. Bad: is a little wallking for the center of town to came back walking at nigh but very cheap by cab or motococho. My memory from this place will always be.- laying on the bed looking at the ocean listening the the wonderfull sound while the wind just blows my skin making me instantly relaxed. The place is safe and you will have a chance to have a glimpse of how is to live there. Thank you again for the wonderfull stay.

Room Tip: get the room in the 2nd floor facing the ocean.

A small hotel (probably 8-10 rooms) but a perfect place to relax by the Caribbean. It is off the main road so you are away from the traffic and other noise. It is in a beautiful setting and the staff are superb.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a fridge.

We just returned from having our dream wedding in the Dominican Republic. Even though we had our wedding at a friend's place in the DR, Barefoot Beach Pad was extremely accommodating to our friends and family. Our family that stayed at Barefoot could not stop talking about how amazing it was, so we found ourselves spending the day there as well. The pool was perfect and the cheeseburger was the best my husband has ever had! Ben, the owner, was onsite and very attentive to our needs and desires. He's the type of guy that you could have a beer with and chat the day away (and we did). They even hooked us up with a scooter for the week and we had a blast exploring the island with it. Thank you so much Barefoot Beach Pad! WE can't wait to visit again! XOXOXO Mrs. and Mr. Austin (Michele and Jarrett)

Room Tip: All the rooms are amazing...get a ocean view!
