“Beautiful, secluted, very warm and friendly caretakers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2014

We stayed at the cabin. The cabin and area were beautiful. The cabin was so pretty, large and well stocked. The owners/caretakers have gone to great lengths to make the cabin and its surroundings beautiful. It was hard to leave. The area is great for access to zip lining, hiking and canoing. We had lots of cook space and utensils for cooking the most fun elaborate meals. The gas grill was very new and clean. The owners/caretakers take great pride in their cabin and lodge. They have worked hard to make it what it is. We enjoyed talking with them on several occasions. We would love to go back there in the future.

Our second visit. This time with 9 other friends, spreading out between the Lodge and the Cabin. Beautifully located in deep woods with a soothing waterfall, trail, treetop wildlife at eye level. Nothing rustic about the Lodge and Cabin. Lots of bedrooms, bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens, grills, fireplaces, wrap around decks. A fantastic getaway place with your family or friends.
Very reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Be sure to spend time on the deck at night. We enjoyed nighttime wildlife including entertainment fr...

This was our third visit to Azalea Falls. It was a charm! (So were the first two stays.) We tried out the "new" (to us) Beauty Lodge B&B our first night. As are the original lodge and cabin, the Beauty Lodge is lavishly decorated. We had a quiet, restful night's sleep... right up until when the winds began howling just before dawn. We enjoyed visiting with our hosts during the wonderful breakfast, and we appreciated the dining & hiking tips too! The suggested Big Bluff/Goat Trail hike and dinner at the Low Gap Cafe were both pleasers (see reviews of Low Gap and Cafe Blue Mountain Bakery & Deli). We finished our stay with the familiar cabin. It was just what we needed... To be unplugged!

Room Tip: We really enjoyed the English Rose Room at the Beauty Lodge!

We were four adults and four children (4-13 years) and everyone had a great time. The hike was doable by all and loved the fresh bouquet of flowers awaiting us at checkin along with a bottle of chilled champagne. The weather played along great, we were able to go out everyday and at night made a fire to relax by. Would love to return.

Azalea is a wonderful place to stay. The inside of the cabin was nicely decorated and was very cozy; we felt at home. The outside had a wrap around deck overlooking the bluff. The birds chirping, the racoons visiting in the night was great! We walked on the trail to see the waterfalls but unfortunately, it was dry (but so was the Buffalo River). It was a very nice visit and the owners were very helpful.

Planned a last-minute "weekend getaway" close to home and decided to head down to the Buffalo River area. Luckily the Lodge was available.

We had a secluded quiet retreat from our busy lives. Enjoyed the beauty of the area, the wildlife, the closeness to great hiking and the Buffalo, etc. Very clean, comfortable and enjoyable. Nothing like grilling steaks, drinking wine and sitting on the deck enjoying your own private waterfall. Beware that the Lodge is located on a steep gravel road - we were fine in our SUV, but lower to the ground cars might have issues. We plan to go back!

We stayed at Azalea Falls Lodge in mid June - There were six of us and the Azalea Falls Lodge was a great choice. Three bedrooms, lovely kitchen, antiques everywhere. It was several steps above the normal cobin rental. Decks that looked out into the woods and out onto a waterfall. It wasn't wildly kid friendly - I worried some of the lovely antiques might get broken - thank heavens they never did. Master bedroom was huge with sitting area and sliding glass doors out onto the deck. Two other bedrooms, one fairly small. Kitchen had everything we needed including a bottle of champagne in the fridge! The owners were very helpful and seemed to be always available if we needed them. Nothing like getting up early, sitting on the deck and listening to the birds and the waterfall. At night, raccoons were regular visitors to the deck. I would go back in a heartbeat! Azalea falls was great.

  • Liked — Loved the waterfall
  • Disliked — Not enough time to sit and relax on the deck!
