“Something new for Songkhla !”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

This Dragon Head or " Nag : as stated on the inscription plaque was constructed in 2007 and is a new attraction for Songkhla Lake . The area is part of Songkhla Municipal Song Thale Park . The dragon head is situated at the estuary entrance to Songkhla Lake . There is a ferry service between here and Ko Yo on the other side . When we were there at 5 pm , the water sprouting was inactive or probably broken down , probably the municipality has to repair this to attract more tourists

“The Lake is more than just the Cape!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2012

Most of the reviews here talk about the dragon head statue at the very mouth of the estuary leading from the Songkhla Lake. It is beautiful and well-worth a visit. However, the Songkhla Lake and the Royal Lake (Thale Luang) are unique in Thailand, both culturally and geographically. The area is huge and the waters stretch on forever! Villages around the lake support an inland fishing culture and quaint and picturesque. If you have the opportunity, take a (long) day trip around the entire lake, going up Sattingphra, to Ranot, over to Phattalung and back down again. You might need a good map or someone who knows the area to get the most out of such a trip. It will be about 250 kms and there are many things to see and do along the way!
