“Very clean, quite quirky, great value”

I loved sleeping with the sound of the river bubbling past my window. The theme flows into the decor, heavily reliant on river stones embedded in all the walls and even reflected in the choice of floor tiles. The staff were very helpful, voluntarily bringing my (delicious) breakfast to the room.

Interesting and rather romantic boutique hotel. Next to the river.
We paid 800 baht in the off season July.
Thansila is marked on the google map at high zoom. Slightly tricky to get there advise study map. The hotels in the grimy city centre looked awful
Hope this link works

It is a family hotel, and in the nice little valley beside river. Try to get on ground level , Cars park across the street.. If you wanted to be uncharitrable you could say it is a little dated. We stay in places 600 to 1000 baht.

Room Tip: try to get a room on the ground story

On our last visit we stayed at the other big hotel next to this one. This time we decided to try the Thansila, and it was the right choice. We took the ground floor because we have a kid and a baby traveling with us. The room was modest and natural (we even found a frog in the bathroom!) and we love the sound of the river flowing at night. Next morning we walked down the stairs to the small river and enjoyed the beauty of nature.
The owner was kind and provided all kinds of help. Breakfast was excellent, given the choice of southern Thai food or western-style bread and egg, or both. We also enjoyed the Somboon restaurant across the street - they serve the best Southern Thai food especially น้ำพริกกุ้งเสียบ.

Room Tip: Definitely ground floor.

Lucky me! I came to this hotel just as it was purchased by a new owner, who renovated it beautifully.
The owner, Noi, is a young Thai woman - who speaks the best English I have yet to hear a Thai person speak - including professional tour guides in my previous trip to Thailand. She was very helpful, both with getting my passport stamped with a new visa and with telling me about places to go to or eat at around Ranong - markets, hot springs... I had a wonderful time, mostly thanks to her and her hotel. (She has only been here for a a few months, so if you've been here before - it's not the same! :) )
The hotel is just on the river bank and I got addicted to the rush of water.
I loved my room.
Free wi fi.
Free tea / coffee.
Kept changing my plans so I would stay a bit longer - didn't want to leave!

Room Tip: I loved the rush of water - but a German lady who stayed here said it was too loud for her. If you...

We stayed one night on our way to Phuket from Prachuap Khiri Khan. On the 1st impression it looks like just an ordinary hotel, but upon checking the rooms facing the stream we simply fell in love. The decor and settings were simply gorgeous. Its a place where you will want to stay in your room and gaze at the stream below.

Add to that, it has acosy landscape and a very nice self service cafe and the large banyan tree with lanterns were very nice to sit and talk with your spouse. The owner, a thai lady that speaks very limited English was very heplfull and eager too. Always telling us where is the best place to go or eat. She seemed excited with our visit. We came on motorcycles.

Room Tip: Get the room facing the stream below, its gorgeos
