“Nice Friendly hotel ,”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

I stayed here with my wife in January 2014 for 10 days , nice room and view , easy wifi and the food was good and not too expensive with good portions , buffet breakfast was good with large choice and the staff were all very friendly and always willing to assist , very good location as shopping malls are close by as is the main part of town . for those of you that play golf there is a driving range at the back of the hotel , it is nothing to do with the hotel but its there if you want to use it , cheap to and made many friends there , will stay here again

Room Tip: rooms at the front and high up , non smoking rooms

It may not be the best place to hold seminars, especially big ones, and we had trouble moving around as we were crowded in the conference room. But the staff and crew are accommodating, always ready to help and serve.

The rooms are just right, not bad if it will only be for a good night's rest. Wifi hardly works, especially inside the rooms. Otherwise, you need to stay at the lobby - sometimes with your pajamas! But again, the crew saved the day (and night). They are helpful.

I was struck by one of the crew's patience and respect towards guests. We were supposed to take the first van to the airport, and so the crew (I regret not to have asked his name) started fitting all our luggage only to find out that we will take the second van instead. So, sweating profusely, but never lost his smile, he brought down all the luggage from the first van and put them all again, with care, everything in the second van. Kudos to the guy! I wish I can publish his name here, but maybe next time.

So, as I was saying, it may not be the best place in town, but it sure has good people.

My family and I went to GSC without booking a hotel in advance. We arrived in the city past 7 in the evening very tired from our long drive from Davao City, searching for a cheap but descent place to stay.

We passed by the Royale Hotel and tried to inquire about their room rates and checked their rooms first before deciding, for me it was quite pricey at 2800Php for an old room good for 4 pax.

Nonetheless, we decided to check-in because of their 50% off on all rooms promo. It was a good deal considering their good and central location.

Their plate-in breakfast was just okay for me, but my mom found their corned beef less appetizing because of the "namuong sebo."

Front desk service was just okay, not so accommodating. The bellboy was kind enough to accompany us in viewing the room prior check-in. Room service personnel were good and very courteous.

Bed was comfortable and the room was spacious, BUT their t&b was noticeably old with dirty tiles and hard to flush toilet.

Overall, stay was good given that we got the room for just 1400Php for all 4 of us. It was relatively cheap.

If you are staying only for a day or two then this hotel is a good choice.

Rooms clean but with tiny ants, beddings not exactly clean- with pink stains. Insects, so tiny you can barely see them, between the bedsheets gave me uncomfortable, restless, sleeples night. Wifi not working!!!!!! And worst of all, their telephone unit smell real bad!!! No exaggeration. Would definitely not come back to this hotel anymore and will highly advise our company to consider booking us to different hotel. Have tried other hotels in this province and none as bad as my experience here.

Hotel is nice, staff are courteous. Food is just ok. Front desk ladies need to present themselves professionally. Advice: never present yourself with wet & uncombed hair. And no make-up! They look like they just got off from a bathroom. It's soooooo unacceptable. And keep voices down, i can hear their loud conversations while i am sitting on the lobby near the door.

Hotel looks old, but tolerable, and needs some improvements esp in the bathroom and curtains look very old. Bed feels soggy. There were shoeprints on the floor when i got it.

There was no pool or gym or spa inside, need to go out of the building for the spa which is kinda uncomfy bec it was raining. No lounge area where you can relax and unwind, just a bar outside.

This hotel used to be the top choice of the city. I stayed more than 20 times during the last several years. But now I am thinking of changing to new hotels.
Rooms are OK because of sheets and average amenities. But, towels are grey and hard. What I am not satisfied are the staffs at front desk and dining room. They seldom show friendliness. Wi-Fi, which was installed several years ago, haven't worked properly. Signals are very weak in all the rooms I stayed. I asked them to check it, but no improvements. Wi-fi has been available only at the lobby area. Breakfast is above-average to average, considering the price.

Hotel is a bit old but with complete amenities. Breakfast is very good and priced reasonably. Since the room is old as well as the furniture inside it, improvement is needed in maintenance and housekeeping. The bathroom room was not cleaned well. I saw a lot of black dust on the floor. Hotel room needs further refurbishing.

Room Tip: Ground floor room is quite noisy..
