Relative to other hotels, this is your best bet for the city- in terms of location, customer service, security etc. rooms are relatively quiet - away from the busy road. but wifi is sllowwww. they seriously need to address this and Bathroom needs updating too.

How many stars do you give a hotel that doesn't know what a face cloth for bathing is? I called the front desk to ask for a wash cloth and they didn't know what I was talking about. The hotel is located close to the new SM Mall which is nice and far enough off the main road that it's quiet. The rooms are clean and fairly spacious but the bath is small. Some mildew on the shower and the bathroom looks like it's cerca 1980. Breakfast included is a good choice. If this hotel was in America I'd give it a poor rating.

Room Tip: If you can afford a upgrade (and it is expensive) you'll get twice the space but 1/2 the shower...

While the prices are more expensive than most other hotels in General Santos, this hotel was relatively clean and amenities adequate. The location is good, as there are nice restaurants nearby, and three major malls are within a five minute tricycle or cab ride.

Most rooms are positioned far away from the main road in front and there is ample parking for the various establishments (restaurants, etc.) nearby. However this could be a challenge if there is a major event (e.g. wedding reception or convention) unless buses were to transport the participants - this probably doesn't happen that often.

I was mostly happy with our stay, we stayed for 3 weeks in a deluxe room, staff good and helpful except in the Royale lounge as the waiters kept getting orders wrong and the buffet breakfast was good for the first week but not enough selections for westeners i soon got sick of it to much filipino food. The bath room is looking its age the shower door not close properly.Price is proably a little bit exspensive for what you get and I think it really needs to have a swimming pool. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again if they had a swimming pool that is why when we return to gensan next year we are staying in another hotel purely because the other hotel has a pool.

Room Tip: Deluxe room is good value

We stayed here for just one night this month.

It's a good quality hotel, clean, nice rooms and great location (across the road from a shopping mall).

Staff were friendly and efficient during check-in.

Breakfast food was good but not much to choose from (if you like Western food). Breakfast was included in the price which is good.

Room was big, clean with a good shower and a comfortable bed.

I'd stay here again.

Front desk staff is in dire need of customer service training. My room is nothing to write home about and no wifi signal. Although that being said, the hotel has a backup generator which is a big plus especially with the constant brownouts.

Room Tip: Make sure you get wifi signal in your room. My complaints did not help.

I stayed for one night at the Royale East Asia Hotel at General Santos City in March 2012 while on work. Excellent location within easy walk of malls and restaurants. The hotel seems quite old, but refurbished somewhat recently. For a small town, the prices seem a little high.
I had booked a Deluxe Room. It was well-appointed, there was a LCD TV, free coffee & tea maker, and a sofa-bed in addition to the huge king-sized double bed. The bathroom had a jacuzzi in addition the the shower stall. The jacuzzi was stained and the controls were incomprehensible in the absence of any labeling on the controls. The tiles in the bathroom had caked dirt between the joints.
There is free wi-fi throughout the hotel, but unsecured. There is no gym. The breakfast spread is limited but tasty. There is a complimentary drop off to the airport.
Overall, an average hotel, not sure if I would stay here again, but then there is very little choice here..

Room Tip: Go for the Deluxe rooms, they come with a Jacuzzi, Minibar and Sofa-bed for just PP300 more than the...
