Simple but nice place to stay

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Mar 16, 2017
St. Nicholas Inn is a simple, affordable but good place to stay. Its near Cogon Market and lots of cheap places to eat. The room I got was small but cozy enough and clean.. the staff are real accommodating and very helpful. A safe simple budget inn.

Room - we got the room number 7, 2 double decks and 1 single bed. Big enough for 5 people. Floor space is enough for our big bags.
Toilet - Small but with hot water. Nice after the White Water Rafting experience.

You will need to ask early for the extension, as there is only about 2 or 3 sockets in this room. A problem when all of you needs to charge gadgets.

No breakfast, but coffee and juices and other canned goods are available.

Near the big mall.

Area is not so nice, but the inn itself is far from the main road, sleeping should be a breeze.

Airconditionining units are okay as well. Towels were provided too!

Overall - might stay here again, unless we find somewhere cheaper. :D

St. Nicholas Inn was affordable and it was nice.
Though the area where it is situated is not that dreamy, as the surroundings were very cluttered and very urbanized - the inn itself was very clean and well managed.
It was near the main areas of the city and it was easy to hail a tricycle to eat out for dinner.

We were helped by the staff quickly when we got there, and they delivered our requests quickly to our room (though they were not able to reply to us when we were lost and trying to find the place).

I appreciate that they had a decent wi-fi connection that was accessible from our room. There was also a designated place where you can hang your clothes to dry (at the rooftop in the 2nd floor). Their rooms were also very nice (clean bathroom, big flat screen TV, soft beds and superb aircon units).

Overall, I will recommend this budget hotel to anyone travelling to CDO.

Room tip: First room on the second floor is great! We were a group of 6 and we fit there (with an extra mattress)

We stayed here for 2 nights for our Cagayan de Oro and Iligan trip. Good location, near the market, walking distance to restaurants, and easy to find. Most locals know the place. Clean rooms. Though the bathroom is small, its water heater is working.

Me and my friends stayed here this November and at first i was very impress how the inn looks but when they showed me their budget rooms i was so shocked because it was very very small and not maintained. You will think twice sleeping. The cr.'s are tiny just enough space to have a shower and the bed is so so..there are better budget hotel you can find compare to this inn. The only good thing about this hotel is that they have good staff and wifi. 1 star for me.
