“A nice little museum”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

It's a pretty nice museum to learn about the history of CDO. They have student guides available who can show you around the exhibits. They speak excellent English, Filipino or Bisaya depending on your preference.

Entrance costs 20 pesos for students and 50 pesos for adults. It's inside Xavier University (Ateneo de Cagayan), and so you need to bring an ID to leave with the guard at the entrance. As with most museums, I believe pants is a must to be granted admission. Xavier University is right in front of Divisoria, so you can easily explore CDO's interesting food sights right after!

“A very nice museum!”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

If you have an interest in history, then this museum is well worth a visit. There is not a sign on the street to show the location of the museum, but just go to the entrance of Xavier University and the guard will direct you to the museum. The museum is setup in chronological order for the CDO area. There is a nice presentation of artifacts found in the area and artist interpretations of how the CDO area has evolved over the centuries. Since there are well written articles, It is easy to do a self-guided tour, but the day I was there I had a very good guide. He was a graduate of Xavier and gave a very informative tour. The museum is very well-kept and has good lighting and it was nice and cool, so you can enjoy it even on a hot day. In the upstairs, they had an art display, but I understand this is a changing display. I think you will enjoy a visit here!
