“Relaxing place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2012

This place is highly recommended for couples, and for a short family visit in CDO. I like the cozy restaurant and the service, their kinilaw is one of the best. Room is great with a vew outside which you can see the garden and swimming pool.
Place is perfect to relax your tired body and grab some bottle of refreshments. A complete place to stay, but the transportation accessibility is not advisable for those who has small budget. Not recommended for backpackers as you may end up spending more in Taxi and pedicabs. I find the place a bit isolated from shops, restaurants, convenience stores and ATM's. I’ll get back if I have a good budget, but I won’t if my packet is half empty. :-)

I had my wedding reception here. Mr. Lio and Mr. Sandro were very helpful. My family paid for a wedding package and I was quite disappointed to find out during the wedding that there was no wedding bell available, but it was included in the package and we paid for it. :( But, that's okay. It's only a wedding bell. But hopefully with other wedding receptions being held in the hotel, they will be able to come up with one. The food was delicious, we had a food tasting session the day before my wedding. The reception rooms ANGELA 1 & 2 were nicely decorated with drapes, flowers, etc. The sound system was very good. Thank you Mr. Lio and Mr. Sandro, you were very helpful. I really appreciate it. :) The front desk people were just OKAY. Riza at the front desk was very kind, respectful and courteous. There's a girl in the front desk ( I don't know her name), she's a little chubby and she was assigned in the morning shift, whom I was disappointed with. She was totally unkind to my guests when they checked out. She didn't even smile or thank my guests who paid for a room for an overnight stay and to top it all, she was unkind when she spoke to my Ninong and Ninang "Dili man gud namo ipa check out ang customer kung wala pa na check ang room, panigurado lang ning amo-a sir". I totally understand that it's a hotel rule, but at least she could have said it more nicely. This happened twice, also to my UNCLE and AUNT. Some, not all, in the front desk don't know what they are doing. Every time I ask for information about my room or the free breakfast, the woman on the phone at the front desk always ask her co-workers. Proper endorsement at the front desk should also be done because my mother-in-law paid the downpayment for a standard room and the people in the front-desk considered the room FULLY PAID. When in fact, a downpayment was just given. The room was very clean, but there was no hot water during my first night stay, it turned out that the heater of the hotel was broken. But, it was fixed during my second day of stay.

Visited Country village hotel again this year. The hotel is still in a good state and the option for someone who wants a quiet place without traffic. I had a superior room, view to the pool. Can be a little loud during the weekends coz many reunions and family bondings are held there. Staff is friendly but not too attentive.
Anyway, a good choice in CDO.

Country Village Hotel is like a country home, It has old-fashioned furnitures made from bamboo. Plants are everywhere to complete its nature scheme. They have also a park for kids and a gigantic swimming pool. I've never tried it. But it looks like kinda fun. There service was very great, always smiling staffs and helpful employees. The room I stayed in was very elegant. It had a very exotic feel, it was like your in your own home. Overall, It was a great trip there.

This has got to be one of the better quiet hotels in Cagayan De Oro. The pool is lovely and you can have a quiet drink beside the pool or have your meal served there as well, instead of the restaurant It has a quiet atmosphere and is well suited to those who are looking for a quiet relaxing time. the rooms are comfortable with a good setup. There is not a fridge in all the rooms but hot water is usually available in the bathrooms for those who like a hot shower. reception is a dream and those working there are nothing but wonderful. Always there to help. I will be staying there again, possibly very soon.

I've been here last February. I just love their pool. Its very relaxing especially when the sun is about to set. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Wifi is very fast (and it's for free). I love the food and the venue itself. They now also have their own online booking. No more hassle for additional payments. Visit their website at www.countryvillagehotel.com.ph for more details.

We spent three nights in this Hotel arriving on !6th December, the night Typhoon Sendong hit the area. The Hotel aims at the Wedding / Party trade rather than tourist guests. Many of the parties are held around the pool which tends to render the pool useless for relaxing by.

The rooms were clean but basic. Service was bad, but I cannot be sure how badly this was affected by the Typhoon. 17 people died at a river bridge with 300 metres of the hotel. Some staff did not turn up on the following morning and were possibly missing. A number of people that had lost their homes to the flooding were moved into the hotel.

The hotel was fair value for money.

Room Tip: Try and get a room not close to all of the party goers here if you can.
