This is the worst hotel!!! When we ate our breakfast, i was really mad because the milk that they served in the buffet smells bad , i asked the lady at the buffet to change it and thats the time that they will change it. They should check first the quality of the food before they serve.

I requested for a suprise birthday cake at 5.30 pm to be deliver on my room & its already 8pm!!! I follow up and that's the time that they will deliver a cake!! Thats not a surprise anymore!!!!

At 7am i called the front desk to ask if what time doesthw pool open the girl said it's 7am, so we went to the pool at 7.30, at 0730 the pool is still close, we approach them to open the pool. And then they said that they will call us if the pool is clean!!!! The hell!!!!

Its a waste of time, money & effort!!!!!!

After booking a 'mountain view' room, I was surprised when we were shown to a room that overlooked a hill, some houses and a 'castle'. I was expecting a view of the mountain - the volcano.
This can actually be booked under a 'city view' room. A few minutes after looking around the room and seeing the disgraceful standard of the bathroom I returned to recepetion to ask about prices of the actual mountain view rooms. I was told that they were all sold out. This struck me as odd, considering on their own website, as well as two other booking websites I noticed there was plenty of availability. There were also very few people in the hotel - the night we dined in the restaurant we were the only table.

So we stayed in our filthy room, with the terrible air-conditioning. The food in the restaurant was better than i expected for dinner, though breakfast was terrible. We stuck with juice. The coffee, cake and beers served at the lobby cafe were in fact ok.

I was overcharged in the spa for a massage.

The pool........ this was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. In reality, it was not an 'infinity pool', as the water level was too low and the area where the water should have cascaded was filled with dirt. There was a large pile of used towels, though no supply of fresh. No pool attendant, and NO pool bar, as was signposted. Very disappointing.

We did manage to glimpse the volcano the morning we left which was a good point of this hotel. Even the hill walk from the town was quite pleasant, though everything else was well below average.

First the positives: the hotel is situated atop the Taysan hills so you get exceptional views of the bay, the city and the volcano (weather permitting). The staff is also very personable with frequent greetings and smiles as you pass them by. They also really go out of their way to fulfill your requests. They also have free wiFi which is nice.

Now for the negatives: our flight arrived early so when we checked in our room was not ready. The front desk informed us that they would put a "rush" on our room so that we could check in sooner than later . When we finally got to our room, I noticed that the linens were very wrinkled . I got the feeling that linens were not fresh . Upon closer inspection I noticed stains on the pillowcase and little hairs on the sheets that were clearly not ours. Yuck!!!

When we checked in the staff informed us that there was a gym but it was only open from 6-10 am . What?! On the third day we found out that it was open from 6am to 10pm. This did not make my husband happy who missed working out for 3 days .

When we took a shower , water was only lukewarm not hot and drain was very slow.

We decided to dine at the restaurant (jasmine) that first evening for lack of other alternatives. They were out of most everything on the menu. My husband had to settle for his 5th choice which was a sad fish taco served on a limp tortilla . They also ran out of wine and could only offer us 1 choice out of the 15 or so on their menu.

The redeeming factor in this sad tale is the spa. Although the spa itself is rather plain , the Masseuses were excellent with very strong hands. Price for massage was unbeatable .

Would I stay here again? Probably not .

My friends and I stayed at The Oriental Hotel last Sept. The hotel shuttle was already waiting in the airport when we arrived. We were given cold towels and water so we could freshen up during our 15-minute ride to the hotel. Welcome drinks were served as soon as we arrived in the hotel. The hotel staff helped us to our rooms after checking in. Our rooms were nice and spacious. Complimentary drinks are on the mini-bar. The closet had two robes and slippers for each guest. I love the rainshower. One thing that's missing though is the shower room is a bidet near the toilet bowl.

Food was good, staff were attentive and amenities are excellent. The hotel is very eco-friendly. There is a spa and gym located in the basement. Their infinity pool has a stunning view of the majestic Mayon Volcano. I just hope that 3-floor house erected near the hotel can be wiped out as it destroys the perfect view.

The hotel's shuttle was even nice to bring us to a famous local restaurant where we were planning to have one of our meals.

We stayed at the Oriental Hotel end of Sept. and beginning of Oct. We were very happy to find the hotel shuttle waiting for us at the airport (without asking for it) ; we were givem cold towels and fresh water to relax.

At the hotel, the room was clean and correct. The bathroom was modern. The shower mat had to be changed which was done within minutes after we asked. The strength of Wi-Fi signal in the room was not constant. The view on the Mayon is perfect!

The staff was very welcoming and nice with us every day of our stay. They tried to help us in many ways (information, facility, telephone numbers, food, etc.). At the hotel restaurant, the breakfast buffet offers various kinds of food (filipino/continental, rice, fruits/vegetables, meat/fish/eggs/omelets, bread/cereals, tea/coffee, juices, pastries, pancakes/muffins, ...). The service was very good. The children are very well taken care of. Special tanks to Noel and Angelie who are very thoughtful.

The swimmingpool (with three pools) gives a fantastic view on the Mayon and the bay. A MUST!

We were at Oriental Hotel from Nov. 3 to Nov. 6 (4D/3N stay) with my cousin and her family and since day 1, everything is a disaster. The room was reserved prior to our visit and we expected that as soon as we arrive, everything is ready but we waited for 30-minutes. Dinner time, we ordered and requested them that drinks be served immediately but it took them another 30-minutes. We started to get hungry so we followed up our orders only to find out that there was a problem in their system. Once they punched it in their machine it was supposed to be received by the kitchen staff or the bar staffs (if its for drinks, cakes or whatever pastries). In our case, if we did not ask for our orders (after an hour of patiently waiting for it), no one will discover about this big mistakes. It's totally a very disappointing night for all of us..so we just decided to go out for dinner. When we come back, we saw this letter of apology with two plates of blueberry cake and 4 bottled waters. But we're not happy at all but since we're human, apology accepted.

The following day, before we go out and tour the city, they told us that they will transfer us to a bigger executive room, near the swimming pool at the 2nd floor with the same rate (by the way, we got that room at the 5th floor with the perfect view of the Mayon Volcano) and give us a free spa for two as part of making amends for what had happened and we accepted the offer and requested them to do their job properly and improve their service. They told us that they will first fix the room and give them 30-minutes again to do it. We didn't notice how long we have waited since we enjoyed watching the movie at HBO. We complain again when we finish the movie and no one's calling our attention that the new room is ready for use. (They failed again for the 3rd time). We're not even happy with the buffet breakfast. The bathroom is not good for kids, very slippery.

Yes, the hotel is beautiful, with friendly staffs but everything here were so slow. This is even over-rated. Do not expect too much from The Oriental, it says 5-star hotel but it's NOT!.
