My husband & I, together with my cousins, had dinner at Sibid Sibid. We ordered many items from the menu - & everything was absolutely delicious. Food was nicely prepared & presented, service was excellent. The ambiance was welcoming. The place was clean.

For a place that seemingly had a lost theme and no ambience, it was a memorable experience, and i would attribute it solely to the food. It wasn't a first rate experience, but it would be unfair to the place to expect as much.

We ordered sizzling seafood, bulalo, native chicken in smoky coco milk, pinangat, and homemade ice cream. The chicken was beautifully cooked, smoky and rich as hyped. The sizzling seafood clearly benefitted from the sauce and did arrive on what was supposed to be a sizzling platter. The bulalo wasn't generic and was new to the taste. The pinangat clearly loses out to honest to goodness homemade laing. The ice cream was okay, albeit a tad un-memorable.

So why was it pretty good? None of the food felt pretentious. It tried to showcase what Bicol was about which i appreciated. Perhaps, what won me over the most, is that despite the empty place with no aural appeal, the food and the service felt comfortable in their own skin. And just for that, I'd come back again, for sure.

When in Legazpi, this is the place to eat.
They specialized in seafood dishes and you have lots to choose from. Foods are prepared not too spicy. The dishes are good, you can't go wrong on a coconut milk dish - which I love. No spicy ice cream here.
The interior is relaxing, has a native feel to it and its open, wooden benches (bangko), long tables. They have parking space for those with cars. It is near the bus terminal and from Gaisano mall. It is adjacent to Waway restaurant, this is a buffet restaurant. We had a late lunch at Sibid Sibid, around 2:30 and Waway was close that time.

Came here for dinner our first night in Legaspi. It was difficult to really know what we were ordering but both of our meals were very tasty. It was open air with a woven roof and all the tables and chairs were made of natural wood making everything seem very organic and natural. They used sibid peppers that are native to the region in all of their dishes. Great experience for our first night in the Philippines.

A must try - Kilawing Lapatang, Bistig and Sibid-sibig express!

Got luck having huge space for parking when we visited yesterday. No aircon and native bamboo ambiance with warm lights matched with not so loud but instrumental sounds while you eat.
