Wow very interesting place, the ruins are what remains after a volcanic larva flow destroyed all that was in its path. Great souvenir shops, remember to ask for a better price. Some OFF roading to be done near by, to adventures for us, people looked like they were having fun.long drive but worth it. Enjoy

We visited here as a family group and it was very pretty, with a view of the Mayon volcano in the distance, though could never see the top due to clouds. The ruins are impressive.A number of things to see and do in the area.Very happy we went there.

Since we arrived here past 7am, Mayon was already covered with clouds. But nevertheless, the ruins is beautiful just as Mayon. We brought ref magnets here and was able to haggle it to 4pcs for P100 instead of 3pcs for P100. Also keychains were sold at 11pcs for P100. Since summer is over, there were only few tourists seen.

Visiting on a Wednesday
From Legazpi bus/ van terminal:

— get on a jeepney to Pacific Mall/ Gaisano which is about 5-7 minutes (fare P8)
— walk 2-3 minutes to Legazpi City Market on Circumferential Road; you’ll see 101 shopping mall nearby
— this market is near Ayala Malls so if you get there by mistake, you already passed it
— take the CAMALIG jeepney only; it doesn’t pass very often but it does have a signboard so you know you got the right one
— jeepney fare is P13 one way; travel time is approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic; tell driver to politely to drop you off at Cagsawa
— from the highway, it’s a 10 minute walk to the ruins
— you’ll pass by different ATV companies which you can take if you want to see the hardened lava flow
— entry fee to the ruins is a cheap P20
— toilets have P5 fee for maintenance but it’s clean
— too bad it was drizzling so Mayon was covered in clouds
— freaky but you can actually hear Mayon grumbling; for a moment, I thought I hear thunder but the sounds was different; I waited again and there it was; wow

I actually went to Legazpi with no plans so I asked around hoping for the kindness of the people. They were polite, kind and really wanted me to get to my destination. Bravo the people of Legazpi!

I was on Legazpi City for a business trip. However, since I am a day early, I decided to roam around the province and visit the places where tourists usually paid to visit.

I ran to Cagsawa ruins because it is always on top of must see list of previous travellers. Indeed, it is so amazing. I walked from the entrance which says "welcome to Cagsawa" to the ruins of volcano eruptions which is now top destination in albay, Cagsawa Ruins. It did not fail me indeed. More than my expectation. Walking to the ruins give you the beautiful sight of Mt. Mayon, tha volcano with a perfect cone. It has been an enticing place not just for local but even foreigners. You can also rent a motor and travel through the trails of lava. Its a must experience, too. In the souvenir area is a choices of different pastries from pili nuts. One of the most delicious nuts...

So much experience, that are valuable indeed.
