If you go there first find the child photographers there and they will take pictures of you with effects, its really cool, they will make it appear like you will lean on the ruins or carry a rock something like that, just tip them php200-300 depending on your heartfelt generosity hehe, but may i warn you that those photographers should give you a quick tour and fun facts some will not so you should request when they dont...

This should have been the perfect spot to view Mt. Mayon but sadly she was hiding during our visit. Got to see Mayon from the airport though before she hid herself completely. This is also a great place to find souvenirs.

Vies of Mayon volcano from Cagsawa ruins are fantastic. Reaching here is easy - I took a jeepney from Embarcadero where I stayed. and tehen walked the short distance from the highway.

The ruins are well maintained, with gardens and greenery around them, and you can walk around / take photos freely. There are at least 20shops selling pasalubong (souvenirs) including t-shirts with witty sayings (for example : a t-shirt wit a chilly and the message - I am Hot!) and other souvenirs.

There are a few restaurants with good economically priced food (within 100 pesos per dish) and stalls selling (hold your breath..) mango shake with chilli!! It was surprisingly tasty - I opted for the "medium spicy" one. A buko stand sells coconuts so you can sip water and gaze at the ruins and volcano alternately.

Sadly, the ruins sadly have very little information about their history save for two plaques. There is an apology of a shed with some photos of past explosions which we noticed after a long time.

Surprisingly the restaurant inside had free wifi!
