We visited Cagsawa twice during our 2 days in Legazpi. The first time we went was in the aftrenoon and the volcano was not visible at all (literally nothing) because of the clouds. Still it was nice to walk around the ruins. Also the local craft stalls are very nice. We bought slippers (25PHP), purses (100-160PHP), placemats (130PHP), trivets (25PHP). and t-shirts (~280PHP). I definitely recommend taking time to see the shops.
The next day we went back in the morning even though it was still cloudy at our hotel. Certainly glad we did because the clouds cleared enough for us to see the volcano. Its an incredible site!

Likes:
-View of the Mayon Volcano
-Lots of souvenir shops

Dislkes:
-The toilet is very filthy, wet floor despite paying Php5. That's apart from paying Php10 for the entrance fee to the Cagsawa Ruins.

Here you can see the beautiful Mayon Volcano it just depends on the weather. When cloudy you cannot see mayon's perfect cone shape. The Cagsawa Church Ruins complements the view perfectly. Come here on a hot sunny day around 12noon when the clouds are high up for a better view of the volcano. There are a few eateries, souvenirs and handicraft shops in the park. There is an entrance fee of 10 php per person. There is limited parking space and the restrooms are dirty.

Great place to take pictures of Mayon Volcano when it's not hiding behind the clouds. There are guides who will take your pictures, you just have to give them a tip. A good place to relax and sip coconut juice. :)

The ruins tell so much of the history of this place which is worth knowing and telling. The story speaks of the way Filipinos value their Christian faith, especially in the face of natural disasters.
