We got stranded in Tagaytay due to the bad weather that struck the Metro a few months ago. We had no choice but to have our stay extended. Nonetheless, we were glad we did as we were able to surpass the entire chaos during the typhoon. We just considered it as a blessing in disguise in order for us to have a more quality and bonding time with the entire family.

Kudos to the team of Taal Vista, we felt safe and had an enjoyable stay. Only thing lacking is the variety of cuisines. We stayed there for a couple of days yet the menu has limited choices.

Room Tip: 1. ( RESERVATIONS ) book rooms in the new wing. get the room with the balcony facing the lake ( prem...

While planning for our Tagaytay trip, Taal Vista must have been the most expensive hotel that came up on the internet. Since our planning was already crammed and I didn't have the patience nor time to compare rates and stuff, I just booked what seemed the most popular in Tagaytay. I did my reservation online (hotel website), I found it fair how they only charged 10% of the room rate to my credit card upon booking - fair that in case one doesn't push through with his reservation, not the whole room rental will be charged but instead, just the 10% charged upon booking.

Upon checking in, the front desk personnel was extremely (sincerely) friendly - kudos to him. The room was nice and homey. Although there was a strand of hair on the tub, I didn't mind but this might be a biggie for some. Breakfast was good as well. There was a wide variety of breakfast items. My favorite about the breakfast is that you can have breakfast outside. They have cozy couches and has a very nice view as well! One staff in the breakfast area was very attentive and helpful too. He was stationed near our table and automatically cleans up even without us asking. We felt very taken care of.

The whole hotel in general was very pretty. I enjoyed my stay and can definitely say that the rate I paid was worth every penny. I'll be back :)

A friend of mine got married in Tagaytay last December 20 and we stayed at Taal Vista for the duration of the wedding. Stayed there from Dec 19-21, 2013. The place is strategically situated along the highway and you won't miss the place as it is near Sky Ranch -- the tallest ferris wheel so far in the Philippines. It is also in front of a casino and a McDonald resto so you won't miss it at all.

Checking in was also fast and easy. We had the voucher pre-paid already so the receptionist just asked for a refundable deposit which you can pay in cash or thru credit card. We stayed at the 4th floor and had the Sky Ranch as our view. Not really the best view but at least it has a view. The room is big for me, my hubby, my son and my yaya. The gym was also ok.

The place is huge and has a scenic view of Taal Volcano. Their buffet breakfast was a feast. The attendants were all courteous and friendly. We requested for a late checkout and they approved it. We also requested that on our first day, our breakfast be delivered to our room at 5am and they did also. We requested for an extra pillow for our son and they delivered it.

The only thing I noticed is their bathroom. The CR and the shower were separated but there was no door to keep it private. Although it was frosted, if you are with people you are not really that close, it would be very uncomfortable to take a bath or do your thing in the CR when you know that your silhouette is seen outside the door and there's a thin line between you and the outside peeps. Just saying.

All in all, we had a great stay and it is definitely our place in Tagaytay! We are definitely coming back.

Room Tip: Choose the room with the view of Taal if available. I think the rooms facing Taal has verandas where...

Our Family stayed at the hotel to spend the New Year, and we had a blast, it was such an enjoyable experience from the great food, to the breath-taking view of Taal, our stay was really fun and we would do it again!

Plus the countdown and the fireworks were awesome!

It's our first time to stay at this iconic hotel but we were a bit disappointed. We requested for non-smoking room and we got one that smell like somebody just finished smoking. The walkway leading to the rooms reeks cigar smoke. It may be the other guests fault, but still, a non-smoking floor should smell and feel like smoke free. The room is quite old, with some broken cabinets, sliding door that can be opened/lifted upward (no sense in locking anymore), a safe that does not work at all. Our room view is pretty pathetic, even downright ugly (see photos). It's mountain view but right below is just not pleasing to look at.They could have at least planted some greens or just covered it with a roof. The entrance, reception and chamber staffs are reliable and always greets/smiles. They have points for sm prestige/advantage card holders but it was offline when we paid and were told to just have it claimed when we get back, like they did not even consider that we oly go to Tagaytay once in a blue moon. The pool is quite small, but with the cold weather, only the brave would want to go swimming in there. There's quite a selection of restos at Skypark right beside the hotel. The breakfast is very good, even if the selection is limited, and made even better by the breath taking view of Taal. Come to think of it, this hotel does have the best view of Taal Volcano.

Room Tip: Get the new wing rooms

It was the first time my family checked in Taal vista hotel in Tagaytay, let alone checking in during one of the most festive time of the year. The experience was a total blast! This hotel had the friendliest staff I have ever seen! They were polite and accommodating. I heard they recently hired a new executive chef from a friend. And I must say that was a very wise decision indeed. THE FOOD WAS SIMPLY AMAZINGGGGG!!!! There was hardly anything that I did not like int he menu. And the best part is( for us at least because our families are foodies), the executive chef was someone very kind and welcoming. Would you believe he would hand out candy like Santa Clause to kids he would meet on his way while doing his usual rounds around the hotel to check the food? Executive Chef Edwin Santos not only has the talent for cooking but also excellent people skills. The hotel lobby was gorgeous especially at night when they would light up the fireplace. The rooms were comfortable and clean. And the New year's count down was an amazing experience! The fireworks was amazing. They arranged it perfectly so as to make sure the fireworks will explode right above the hotels' amazing backyard garden. They would fall like tens of umbrellas above the garden which lasted for at least 15 minutes. I'd say this is just the first of many of my family's experiences there. You guys should definitely check it out!

Room Tip: The hotel has two wings, check in the east wing that they have just renovated. XD The west wing is f...

If you are looking for a place to crash while in Tagaytay, you really can't go wrong with this hotel. The room is decent, clean, well-sized. The staff is courteous. They have ample parking. Wifi is good. They have complete amenities in the room.

But they have lousy food. You will be better off eating elsewhere. Fortunately there are nearby restaurants and coffee shops.
