Me and my friends stayed in this lovely hotel from November 30 - Dec 1 2013.
It has been a delightful weekend getaway and we really had a great time.
We thought of booking at this hotel because of its wonderful location (over-looking the Taal lake and the famous Taal Volcano) and its old glamour history attached to it. As we have been told, this hotel has been a favorite of the society's A-list personalities since 1939! And the fact that we so admired The English Tudor Mansion-style hotel.

Another plus-factor that we liked during our stay was that -- the hotel was so nicely decorated with christmas atmosphere making it look and feel as if you are not in the Philippines at all. We all had this feeling of being transported to another country where the ambiance is like being in London's country side. Not to mention that during our stay -- the temperature was perfect at 17-18 degrees Celsius.

Location wise, its perfect .... Across the hotel is Tagaytay's premier casino and a short walk away is the new outdoor amusement park -- SKYRANCH.

The room we had (room 484) was huge ... having a small balcony overlooking the the beautiful view of Taal volcano and the lake. Would there be anything better than this?? The bathroom was big and Iam just not used to see and use big bathrooms in hotels.

Breakfast buffet at the hotel was relatively nice and delicious. I always like the fact to see "egg station" in every buffet + Bacon of course -- two of my favorite breakfast treat!

Staffs were so nice , helpful and polite. The very trait in every Filipino!

Overall, we had a great and enjoyable stay at Taal Vista Hotel.
This was my first stay and definitely wouldnt be the last.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the Taal lake and the volcano!

The hotel is huge, and it is quite a walk from the new wing to the main wing, where all the amenities are. The room is pretty standard. No bathtub, and the water is either too hot or too cold in the shower. Breakfast is good. View is great.

Room Tip: Choose the Premier room

Had lunch there with my family. The buffet lunch cost around 950p per pax, we felt expensive, so we order ala carte. A huge burger set, a pork chop, cost about 350p each. My wife order a pancit canton, sort of a fried noodles, which cost about 300p. One can see the volcano and lake from here. We are lucky to have their cultural performance too. Overall, pleasant experience.

We stayed in this lovely hotel last March 2013 . The hotel , bathroom ,linens and towels were clean. However, the water heater was not functioning properly . The room we stayed in, was a good 150 meters away from the reception lobby which was a bit far . There is handicap access. We just wish that the hotel gift shop , which sold many Filipino souvenirs opened early. The breakfast buffet was a feast of native and continental dishes . They served the local hot chocolate which was very thick and delicious. Fruits were abundant too.

Room Tip: Request for a room where the ramp and gift shop were if you want it is near the parking lot .

My family and I stayed in this hotel over the long weekend of November. There were a lot of guests in the hotel taking advantage of the long holidays as well as the very good deal from Deal Grocer of the hotel's rooms. I for one got it for 4500/night and upgraded it to Premier room with Lake wing view for additional 1000php. The view of the Taal Lake is spectacular from this room and I'm glad I decided to upgrade. I've been wanting to stay in Taal Vista Hotel for the longest time. Whenever you mention Tagaytay, people will suggest you stay in the infamous Taal Vista. The hotel has underwent major renovations and rebranding after the SM group acquired it. The room where we stayed is located at the new wing of the Taal Vista - closer to the newly opened Sky Ranch park. The room has 1 queen bed and 1 single bed and has complete amenities - hot and cold shower, toiletries, towels, bathrobe, hair dryer, cable tv, complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water. Bed is average and comforter blanket needs improvement. Walls of the room need soundproofing as you can hear children running around the corridor and guests upstairs moving their chairs/stuff. The room also has a balcony overlooking the Taal Lake where you can just chill out and enjoy the weather.

Beside the hotel is the newly opened Sky Ranch - where families can enjoy a festive activities such as riding the ferris wheel or anchor's away or just dining in restaurants (KFC, Kenny Rogers, etc) while enjoying the Taal Lake view and the cool weather. Since the park is near the rooms, you can hear the music from your balcony. Guests also come and go to the garden below the rooms so it can get quite noisy if there's a crowd. But it was generally a good hotel with the best view in town. My family and I had a very nice and relaxing staycation, thanks to Taal Vista Hotel.

Advance booking by phone was a breeze when I was given a booking reference number. Later did I realize that Oct. 27 though a Sunday was part of a 3-day weekend because of a holiday (barangay elections) the day after.
For some other reasons, there were a lot of guests checking in but they had an extension or make shift check-in table at the hotel's ballroom where guests were seated and served with iced tea. The deluxe room I reserved was not available that day but we were lucky to be given a premiere suite room 328 as free upgrade.
Said room is in another building that houses the guest rooms where the swimming pool is.
It was a spacious bedroom with phone, safe, etc. and T&B, adjoining living room with a powder room, personal ref. with mini bar, coffee maker though no ground coffee, complimentary bottled water, coffee, tea bags, creamer and sugar sachets.
Both rooms have its own split-type aircon and a 32-inch LCD TV with HD channels from Cignal TV provider. Hotel staff were promptly helpful with Satellite TV operation and unlocking the powder room 'a door.
Except for the out-of-order ref and sliding door to the bedroom from the living room, everything was good.
Buffet breakfast has varied selections and food were delectable.
After breakfast, we went outside and the view of Taal lake outside the Resto is spectacular.
I will be looking forward to stay in this hotel the next time I am in Tagaytay.
I will try to post some pics later after I post this review from my mobile. I seem can't find that option.

We visited the hotel to check how it looks and possibly be in our list of hotels to choose from when in Tagaytay but the parking fee is so ridiculous charging you100 pesos per hour is grand larceny. We just turned back and did not proceed to check the hotel.
