I got a good deal in Cashcash Pinoy for an overnight stay in Hotel Dominique. I purchased only 2 vouchers because I havent been to this hotel. Initially my bf and I just wanted to stay overnight but after checking the website and reading some of the reviews in Tripadvisor. We decided to stay for 2 nights.

The hotel is nice although I requested for a queen size bed and I was surprised that they gave us twin beds instead so we had to pull the beds together. The room is on the 4th floor and there are no elevators in this hotel so if you are not so fond of going up and down the stairs you might want to request to stay on the 1st or 2nd floor. A/C is cold, theres a personal ref but the bathroom heater is not working, in the morning the water pressure is quite low.

The staff is very nice and friendly. The pool is okay but very small I guess theres not a lot of guest using the pool since its quite cold in Tagaytay. The food is okay and the restaurant is nice although menu is very limited but there are nearby fastfood restos in the area like Jollibee, Andoks, McDonalds.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay in Hotel Dominque. Although, the hotel is quite pricy so if ur in a tight budget there are a lot of budget hotels in Tagaytay that you can find.

Room Tip: Request for 1st or 2nd floor rooms since theres no elevator.

The hotel staff was friendly and promptly reply to our inquiries, My boyfriend and i stayed at their superior room it was clean and enough for both of us since our bed is Queen size, the hotel inside was look like a little village . You don't need to use a/c since it was cold at night, feel free to stroll outside and have photos taken they have outdoor pool and if you have swimming attire and have guts to swim even it's cold then swim because we did.

GYM are free to use, bring your own shampoo and liquid soap if you are not fond of their generic shampoo in their dispenser, No WIFI connection only in their receiving area. Not a Taal over looking hotel but definitely worth it. just a meter away from rotunda better to take a ride from a tricycle or manila bound bus.

If you have surprise arrangement don't hesitate to contact them.

Room Tip: Choose casitas if you are big groups

This is a decent hotel with reasonable amenities. The hotel is made up of a main building near the road, and a compound at the back that houses a second building as well as themed suites and casitas (tiny villas). The location, a jeep ride or about 5-10 minutes by car away from the Tagaytay Rotonda (before Pink Sisters if you're coming from the rotonda), is good if you want to be closer to the center of Tagaytay and don't mind not having much of a view.

We stayed at a casitas studio, a ground-floor room that's part of a 2-story casitas, which has its own parking. Strangely, it's strictly classified as a room for 2 with an additional charge for a 3rd person (+ P700 with breakfast) when the room already comes with a queen-sized bed and a single bed. More than spacious enough for 3 people, the hotel should consider offering a package for 3 people in this room as the +P700 charge assumes that the hotel has to provide an extra bed.

The casitas studio is a little old-fashioned in design but would've been good enough IF it were better-maintained. As it was, a closed-in, musty smell met us as soon as we stepped into the room. There was a dead insect floating in the toilet before we flushed it and little black specks (insect droppings?) on the toilet tank. When we opened the windows and a sliding door to a small veranda to air out the room, the thick curtains were dusty and had the same old, cooped up smell. This is not the place to stay in if you have a condition like allergic rhinitis or asthma.

We got little sleep during our stay. The beds and pillows were super hard (we jokingly described the beds as "soft papag"). The bedsheets, blankets and pillowcases felt and smelled like they hadn't been changed in days. It was also very easy to hear things from outside the room. Late at night, we heard the guard's/staff's radio squawking while he walked around the compound. A group of men who were joking around and leaving that night sounded as if they were right outside our window. The child/children in the room above us decided it would be fun to run around at 6:30am, which translated to thumps on our ceiling.

The restaurant was okay. The "American breakfast" was two pieces of bread (sliced into 4), two small eggs and vienna sausages if you ordered the sausage, as well as fruit or fruit juice from concentrate, and hot chocolate or refillable coffee. The coffee was supposedly barako but it was hard to tell because it was watery. This would've been okay for a free breakfast but the P220 they charge for it would've gotten you a much better breakfast at Bag of Beans, or a much cheaper one at nearby Jollibee.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, but there was only one woman at the front office for the evening and she was fielding everything from check-ins to requests to complaints during a long weekend while the hotel had a lot of guests. The waiters at the restaurant were also friendly but they tended to congregate around the bar during "lull" moments so it took awhile to get their attention for refills of coffee and other items. The hotel doesn't have its own spa but can book with a nearby service for an in-room massage.

To sum it up:

Pros:
- location (near the rotonda)
- accommodating staff
- seems safe

Cons:
- hard beds and pillows
- poor sound/noise-proofing (on the ground floor)
- musty-smelling room and curtains
- poor cable TV signal (the staff explained that this was due to the cable service provider)
- no view of Taal lake due to location

Conclusion: For the price of the casitas, it's possible to stay at better places. To be honest, after our experience we were surprised that this was 3rd in the line of Tagaytay hotels recommended on tripadvisor (after Discovery Suites, really?). If you stay in the secondary building, people, specially kids, should be careful leaving the building because its entrance/exit leads right into a narrow road (barely wide enough for 1 SUV) where vehicles pass on the way to the casitas/themed suites.

Room Tip: If you're a party of 1 or 2, consider getting a deluxe room in the buildings instead of the casi...

We stayed in one of their superior rooms this weekend, and it was not great at all. Bed sheets were very damp, tired looking, and there was HAIR found on the pillowcase. Room was very dirty. We left the hotel with a cold. bathroom was dated and was not clean at all. Television cable in room was fluctuating and small. made us feel like we were in confined in a hospital..

Mentioned all of this to the receptionist at the counter before we checked out, and all i got was a shake of the head.. we have stayed here before and it was not that bad..

stay elsewhere

Room Tip: if ever you will have no other choice, try and get a big room. their superior rooms are in need of r...

What a pretty hotel! It was a cozy experience. The whole hotel was clean as were the rooms. The bathroom is well maintained and sparkling clean. It was a nice stay because we didn't really have to leave the hotel because there was a swimming pool and a videoke area. Massage places were near too. Although the room was a little small, it was nice and cozy. We've always found Tagaytay such a romantic place and staying at Hotel Dominique fit perfectly. Even the restaurant feels romantic. We will definitely stay here again for a weekend getaway!

Was worried with some of reviews here, but only to find out that they have really gone the extra arm to improve. We arrived 12pm but was allowed to check in early (standard check in was 2pm) since our unit is fixed up already. Room was ok, aircon was working, bed was clean, service was efficient. We had some issues with the room but was attended to immediately ( no cable tv) Gated compound has a security guard so we felt safe. Swimming pool looks dirty or maybe its just like that coz there is no white tiles under the pool to make it look clean. Come breakfast, they have good choice of free filipino and american breakfast and we were satisfied with the portions. Overall, will definitely come back.
Best to go there on a weekday off peak season, where its like you own the place all their attention is Focused on you.
