“bad turned good by excellent cutomer service”

One Tagaytay Place may just be a "new" hotel and is still on their way to "pulling their acts together". We fully understand that.
But what made me surrender my "thumbs up" sign to this hotel is their professionalism and customer service.
Of course, it helped that the hotel is new and that their rooms are cozy enough, but it was their GM KARL who sealed the deal for us.

We had a rough start last year (We have been coming back eversince on a regular basis). I initially booked for a room with a "larger" living area but was given a small one. It turned out that there was some miscommunications.

Upon knowing this, their GM phoned us in our room and offered his apologies. That should have been enough, but this guy seemed a total perfectionist and would not stop unitl he knows that his guests are satisfied.

He gave us several options and really spent time making us happy.

We were hooked since then.

Now, we come here regularly.

Everytime we are in Tagaytay, it is just One Tagaytay Place for us.

The lobby is friendly and staff is very helpful. The Hotel Lobby is functional and has a coffee shop with a wine service. Rooms may be efficient by western standards (we stayed in a suite) and the room is very well furnished. The suites have two flat screen TVs (one at the bedroom and one at the receiving area). Room service and housekeeping is very efficient. The shower heads are a nice touch. The shower stall is a bit small compared to other western hotels but then the western hotels also include a bathtub.

The entrance to the hotel is well hidden so
1. I think there should be large signage by the main highway to direct the traveller to turn into the hotel.
2. I also would recommend clocks on the walls of the rooms to remind hotel guests of their current appointment of the day.

Tips
1. Do not expect a resort type of room. It is a hotel and thus the rooms are hotel rooms
2. Swimming pool is on the 7th floor
3. The smoking area and bar is at the lobby and at the 3rd floor(Azalea)
4. The breakfast is served on the 3rd floor. (buffet type).
5. There is also a Full spa also located at the lobby of the hotel.
6 At the entrance of the hotel by the main highway, is a 7-11 convenience store

it was an intimate bonding with my 5 best friends.. cool drive to tagaytay from makati took us only an hour n half. the hotel lobby was cozy, check-in a took about 20 minutes, -lots of people checking in on a sat afternoon. its worth the wait. we booked the 3 bedroom suites and we did not know its at the penthouse. it has 3 rooms, enough for us 6 ladies, but we have to raffle off whose going to stay in the masters bedroom. wow the view in the balcony is fantastic. we arranged massage to relax us all, before we hit dinner w/c is located near the lobby of the hotel and had a night cap at the open bar area of the hotel. friendly service from the hotel staff . we really had fun, just staying inside the penthouse suites.

i like this hotel. Its compact . No frills. But Clean, with extra friendly staff. I like the classy modern design of the hotel and its rooms. Its comfortable. The bathroom is small and tight but its a slight inconvenience for a nice hotel..

i would recommend thisl if you are looking for a simple but classy and modern hotel

On the 24th of this month we had a confirmed reservation. We arrived in the hotel around 3pm although the check in time was 2pm. As we approached the front desk, they were in shambles, no rooms available for us 3 families. Front desk personnel kept on murmurring to themselves. This reviewer was told after 30 minutes that our room was not available yet due to so many people in the hotel. Later, my attention was called that when the Room 611 (being cleaned yet) will be available they will call me at my nephews room 602. After an hour I made a ocular inspection of Room 611. No cleaners present in the room. But, but, the cleaners were changiing linens across Rm 602!. After 45 minutes I asked the cleaners if 611 is cleaned already. They said , "It's cleaned long time already!" Back to the phone and called FD to tell them that the cleaners said the room was cleaned long time already and told them that I and my wife are already tired of the trip and want to take break in our roomm. I was promised that the card key will be brought upstairs in Rm 602. You know what? I had to call them back after 12 minutes to send the card key! This people are not serious with their work. This is poor hotel management.
The bathroom was too small and you have to squeeze yourself between the door and the toilet. I read that this is a new hotel. The shower tiles needs to be regrouted! Another problem in the toilet area is the stinking smell since we arrived. We thought that the smell will disappear after 3 to 4 hrs. Nothing happened. BAD SMELL HAD TO SWITCH ON THE FAN CONTINUOUSLY. The furnitures looks used already being a new hotel. Probably they got it from a garage sale. Never liked the room with a door next room. You can hear next door snoring!
WiFI IS FREE. We were given a password which is not necessary. The connection is automatic. The signal was bad all around the perimiter of the hotel. Maybe you get lucky in a closet! Bad for internet addict.
Checking out. Had to wait for the cleaners to check if we did not steal anything in the room.
HUUUUMPH, we consumed the beverages in the ref, maybe even the tea were chargeable. There was no sign that consuming beverages will be charged! What a rip off. I never mind paying for what I consumed. I could have walked down 7-11 and had other choices.
Outside parking was bad as you have to descend by the side of the bldg. And if you happend to be parked across the steps, you have to walk on the big pebbles and carry your luggages thru the steps up. The steps are not yet done completely and extended irons protruding near the steps are a safety concern.
I will never book on this hotel again, even if it's discounted. For the regular price of around 5 K a night - this is rip off. I used to be a manager of O'hare Hiton in Chicago International Airport.
