“cozy and nice....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2012

we've spent our valentines day on this resort hotel. we have chosen Santorini executive suite. the room is really nice and cozy which truly emphasizes on relaxation and vacation. the staff is very accommodating, food is great. though they don't have supplied bathrobe and shower cap for their clients. all i can say is this is one place i highly recommend for those who are looking for that perfect getaway..

Room Tip: santorini executive suites overlooks taal lake

The new hotel looks very clean and spacious. We visited some friends staying overnight there and were impressed by the restaurant and lobby area.

A bit disappointed though with the layout of the garden and the pools. Not worth the PHP 6,000/ night average charge.

The staffs are well accomodating. The pool area and the kid's playground are well maintained,my kids enjoyed them so much. The food and the overlooking resto/cafe is very good. Very relaxing and cool place, perfect for the summer.

Room Tip: the villas are very spacious with very nice view.

Since 2009 we have been spending Christmas in Tagaytay.

For 2011 we decided to try out the newly renovated Estancia Hotel.

What initially attracted us to stay in this hotel is the good discount we were able to avail, considering that Christmas season is a peak season.

Our family got two different rooms, a De-luxe and an Executive Suite.

The De-luxe room is adequate, it has the basic amenities. Hot water (essential for the cold weather), cable TV, basic bathroom (no bath tub). They could certainly improve on the toiletries they provide. Some cheap transient hotels in the province have better soaps and shampoos. Of course this wouldn’t matter if you bring your own.

The very good plus for the room we got is its proximity from the parking area. The short distance makes it easy for us bring our stuff to and from the room. This is the problem for the Executive Suite.

The Executive Suite is far from the rest of the hotel. Far from the parking area, Reception area and dining area. While the amenities in this room are better (bathroom with tub, better towels, beds and beddings), the distance is one thing that should be considered. Not really ideal if you have older people in your group. If you are scared walking on dimly lit areas, you should get a room near the main hotel. Luggage transfers will also be a production number. They do have a golf cart for transporting people and luggage, but it’s availability is greatly dependent on the number of guests during your stay. I only saw 1 golf cart.

I have read the other reviews about the food of the hotel and I agree with some of them. They are not as good as we hoped it to be. But we were told they are trying to improve this, I think they got a new chef or cook. Most of our meals was from restaurants in Tagaytay. Breakfast is free. Nothing beats free, so I guess it is good enough.

One thing that really stood out is the level of service they have. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. They even waived some charges that other hotels would gladly charge their guests. Wi-fi is available, but it’s not free.

Parking is safe with security 24 hours a day. But that is only for the limited parking spaces in the lower parking of the hotel. We were told the parking along the road is only monitored by security personnel until 8PM.

The pictures in their website look better than reality.

There is really nothing there to make me stay in this hotel again, knowing that there are other options in the area. If they give a hefty discount, MAYBE I will consider going back. Maybe.

Room Tip: De-Luxe rooms are adequate and near the parking area. Executive rooms are better with better view...

Never liked the staff, I didn't like their tones the way they talk so annoying and arrogant. You have to suffer coldness of water for few mins, very poor flow of shower. You can't eat your breakfast in your room cos of strict stupid policy even though I offered extra charge. Very disturbing food . Poor quality utensils . Cockroach smell room. Boob tube tv YUCK CHEAP

we stayed here for one night on 12/15/11.My family are vacationing from the US and we've bee n in manila for about a week. We wanted to get away for a night to get away from the heat and the traffice. My cousing stayed here in August and he suggested we stay here even though it was only a FAIR rating. I was worried, but he said not to worry, the rooms he stayed were recently upgraded.

When we arrived, we checked into what they consider a DELUXE room. The room appeared to be newly remolded and cleaned. The only negative about the room was that my wife was bitten by mosquitos while sleeping.

The view of the lake awesome. If you walk further down by the pool, the view was much nicer. I read how aweful the food was and they were correct so we ate outside the hotel. We did eat breakfast because we were getting it for free, and it was pretty bad. The reason for the four rating is because of the view of the taal lake.

Our family availed of the package which includes room accomodation and food.
The design of the lobby was overwhelming. It's all white and beautiful. Staff told me that some local TV series were being shoot there. We reserved 2 Family Premier room. The scenery at the veranda, overlooking at the Taal Lake was awesome. We spent most of our time staying outside and just stared at the view. When it was lunch time, we went to the restaurant, all our food were served at the long table. We didn't eat all of them, because they tasted aweful. All of the dishes, none of them taste good. Same thing with our dinner. We decided to eat Bulalo outside of the resort. We went back and we had a very good sleep because it was really quite. Breakfast came in, and we were all looking forward to it, hoping that it would be better. All of us were disappointed, Still, didn't taste good.
Nevertheless, I never regret choosing the resort for our family bonding, what i regret was including the food with the package. If only i knew, that it would be that bad,i could have it excluded it and just decided to dine-out. To my disappointment with the food, I wrote an email to the management, but i have not received any apology nor any response.
