The kids love their pancakes and waffles.Their rice meals are very appealing and belly-filling but a bit pricey.

I have been to a lot of branches of the same restaurant. I am particularly drawn to this branch however since we frequent Tagaytay. This is a fool-proof restaurant if you have kids as they have a lot of kiddie food like pancakes, and staple breakfast meals like tocino and tapa. Kids will be busy while waiting as they will give you crayons and a coloring sheet to keep them entertained. The restaurant is cramped though, owing perhaps to the high rental fees along the area, but it is newly renovated now and maximized floor space. Waiters tend to be slow sometimes when there are a lot of diners, but over all, when you don't want to think and yet don't want to fail --- choose pancake house. It's almost always great.

While this Pancake House is in a complex of restaurants that overlooks the world's smallest volcano, Taal, its view is partly obscured by another restaurant's dining area.

However this notwithstanding, the service and food was excellent and the place looked very clean.

I enjoyed a hearty chef's salad (including ham, lettuce, carrot and an inadequate amount of what is in the Philippines expensive cheddar cheese) and a blueberry pancake stack with mock cream rather than icecream, which was filling, satisfactory and tasty.

The bill came to P337.50, about US$7, although I economised by only having iced tap water. Had I ordered a Halo-Halo (Filipino dessert of shaved ice, ice cream and preserved fruits), the cost would have only increased by a further P80 including tax: less than US$2 more.

The restaurant's reliability is testamount to how in the past 15 years, the hygiene and presentation of food in the Philippines has improved markedly.
