I used to look forward to having Sunday buffets at Josephine's during my younger days but stopped frequenting the place for quite sometime when newer restaurants mushroomed in the area. Last Sunday, I went back with my daughters to Josephine's, anticipating that they will have the same grilled items for their lunch buffet, the way they used to. But, the quality, the quantity and the variety of their buffet spread was a total disappointment. The only grilled items that they had were: tilapia plus pork chop and pork kebab that tasted flat The other dishes on the buffet table included just ordinary tasting kare-kare, Thai chicken ,pancit ,steamed vegetables, cabbage salad, garlic rice and plain rice. The dessert included: halo-halo, sago't gulaman, leche plan, matamis na saging, gulaman and some local fruits (pakwan, pineapple, papaya).
For the buffet price of P495/head (with a discount of P100 for no left-over), I still would consider it a rip-off. Understandably, Josephine's cannot compete with the lower priced restos in the area but it will have to retain its former standard of excellence if it wants to retain its old clientele.
