“A good stop over in Dhulikhel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

Sitting on a hill top like many of the older hotels in Dhulikhel, this is one has a clear view of the magnificent Himalayas. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable with a balcony to enjoy the view. The food is good (better than some of the other hotels nearby) and served in an up stairs restaurant with a view. Wifi works easily with a good connection in the first block of rooms- at least. The morning we were there several monkeys were on the roof and balcony doors - so make sure to close the door. They move off by tend to pass by the rooms for a food check. I have stayed at two hotels in Dhulikhel and this was the better of the two - other I know by reputation. For price and quality this one is worth a visit.

The hotel was very busy when we were there...conferences.....the room was nice with a tv and a great view ( if the clouds would have co_operated).......the restaurant had indoor and outdoor areas..the food was ok......mostly buffets .......breakfast was better than dinner...if you come here only for the view you have been warned it doesn't' always workout that way...go for the day from Kathmandu instead of dragging your luggage to see just clouds......of course that's not the hotels fault......mountains missing from view

i stayed at this resort on 10th Feb with a group of 40. the location is perfect with a great view of the mountains . i stayed at room no 210 which was exactly over looking the valley. the staff is good and the gm of the hotel was very helpful . he helped us in having a party in the evening which was great.

the dinner served to us was the only minus point of this resort. it was simply horrible. i just avoided having the dinner

next days breakfast was OK. over all a lovely place to relax and enjoy your drink. .

Room Tip: always take rooms facing the valley staring from 100 and 200 nos.

We shortened our expected 2 night stay to just the one and got through that rather than enjoying it. There was an error with our booking which took some time to sort out and then we were out in the worst rooms - down many uneven steps, musty, cold, with very dodgy electrics.
We didn't feel at all welcome, the food and drink were very disappointing, the bar very limited. It was nothing like how it was represented on their website.
The bar and restaurant were adjoined displaying 'no smoking' signs. Alas several people were smoking and when we asked the staff they shrugged and told us to eat on the balcony. They have no problem with people smoking but as non smokers we were very disappointed.

Room Tip: If you stay, ask for a high room.

We got suggestion from travel agent to go Dhulikhel or Nagarkot while we were looking for near by place from KTM & convenient with transport. We chose Dhulikhel and This resort really a great place to stay at Dhulikhel. The Mountains views are really awesome. Early morning coffee, yummy varieties of breakfast, sunrise and mountain views are incredible. Really loved it. Besides, our room was in different building, still got views of mountain but slightly cover with trees, ok la Go Green.
Food was yummy and there was fire-place at dining area helped me to choose beer as drinks with peanuts. It was warm and cozy at dining so was not willing to go to room where blanket would be cold at first for sure. Local traditional market and newly market are differentiate by views. Old traditional architecture, wood carving, temples, statues, grain drying etc. we're awesomely nice place to see at Dhulikhel. A great location.

We stayed at the hotel, arrived in the afternoon and had a very good Nepali Thali meal with pakoras.. Excellent masala tea too. We headed out to Namobuddha and was back later afernoon for a walk in the town and checked into our rooms. The rooms are small but has a view of the mountains. The wifi is weak but do get signal around the resort and the lobby area. The bed is comfortable, the hotel provides with a mobile heater.. but i was still freezing. The temp dropped to 0 degrees that night. The bathroom is small, but water pressure, hot water was excellent. Abit dated, but still manageable. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. They have a nice fire place which is lighted up during dinner. Nice resort hotel with awesome views of the mountains. the balcony at the top floor is excellent for taking pictures and enjoying the unobstructed views.

if there were no views then it wouldn't be worth it to stay here. But because of the views, and the way the buildings are built right on the slope, I would stay there again.
Our room was on the ground floor, and I would chose a room on the first floor next time. But we had a small garden in the front where the kids were able to hang out under our eyes.
Because it is built right in the hill, there are lots of stairs! So it's not great for small kids, but it didn't bother us for the two night stays.
The rooms are nothing special, but I would not want anything more either from a mountain resort - the beds are comfy with lots of blankets, there is a heater in the room (halogen, so it makes a lot of light); there is a desk, a tea maker, a working TV. The windows are the size of the wall facing the mountains, so the view from the bed is great!
- the bathroom is old, but the shower has great pressure and plenty of hot water!
In the evening we got hot water bags to warm the bed.
I can't think of anything that I was missing while staying there... But the hotel itself is not charming.
Internet is working in most of the common areas, however our room was far from the source, so we didn't get a signal.
The breakfast was standard: eggs, bread, coffee / hot chocolate.

Room Tip: ask for a room on the first floor (not the ground floor)
