Stayed here for 4 nights in low season. It was lovely and quiet, often with the refreshing pool to ourselves after a hot day of sightseeing. Pool was really so welcome after the hot sandy plains of Bagan and I was so glad we stayed somewhere with a pool.

Rooms were lovely, shower fantastic, loved the waterfall effect and black stone floor. Beautifully presented rooms, the only comment being maybe another light would have been helpful as our room was quite dark. Slept so well in super comfy beds.

Wifi generally good although best around the pool area itself. Breakfast was plentiful, enjoyed delicious little fruit salads with mint, fresh yoguhurt and amazing omelettes amongst lots of other things. Staff highly attentive and very sweet.

We ate dinner 2 nights at the hotel and ate out the other 2 nights. I was a bit worried about the location being "far from the action" at first, as mentioned by some, but we ended up being very glad to be in New Bagan, away from more backpacker Ngaung U and Old Bagan, which had a lot of vendors selling tourist stuff, which became quite wearing after time. New Bagan was much more "local" and the hotel is about 20 min bike ride to Old Bagan, so it worked out great. The hotel even gave us free bike hire as well, which was an extra bonus - probably due to low season I guess? Also access to the much less quieter temples is actually very close to the hotel if you take the back (tarmac and decent) road - a real bonus as you can have a whole area of temples much to yourselves.

A lovely stay! Thank you to the excellent staff at Blue Bird.

Great service, clean and spacious room, and tasteful decor. happy that we chose this place to stay. The pool, although small, is a prefect place to chill out after a day out of temple hopping. Breakfast in the lovely dining area is a great way to start the day.

My friend and I stayed at Blue Bird recently in what turned out to be an unexpected lodging highlight. We were aware based on reviews that this would be a special experience, but the extra attention and special treatment from the owner, Mei (such as help booking an airport hotel in Yangon and early check-in and late check-out due in part, perhaps, to the low season) way exceeded our expectations. The hotel setting is very elegant and thoughtful and feels like a resort without any of the generic overtones. The enormous bathrooms and waterfall shower were terrific, as is the infinity pool and ample samplings from a buffet breakfast. Though we did experience some issues with slow wifi and bicycles that weren't quite up for our strength and speed, these were outweighed by feeling like such VIPs. Thumbs up!

We stayed here for 3 nights and we were absolutely delighted with our stay. The hotel is quiet and beautifully decorated. The swimming pool is a delight with enough sun loungers for everyone and the bedroom is so gorgeous with a huge bathroom!

The staff could not do enough for you, they were so helpful especially the restaurant (there is only one restaurant which is very good!) staff. The owners are friendly and provided us with a lot of information on places to visit and assisted us with booking of a car for the whole duration of our stay.

Breakfast is simple but delicious! You have to try their crepe...we ordered it every morning without fail! We had our dinner at the hotel all 3 nights during our stay as the food is very good and they have a few good selection bottles of wine which is very reasonably priced.

We paid USD125 for a room with breakfast included and it was definitely worth it! We could not recommend this hotel high enough. You just have to stay here to experience the beauty and hospitality of this charming boutique hotel.

Visited Bagan in February, 2013. What a delightful hotel! Spacious, immaculate rooms that are quiet & well appointed. Bicycles inexpensively available for use. Waterfall shower feels luxurious after day sightseeing in the hot, dry, dusty climate. Professional & helpful staff. Good Wi-Fi connection.
By far the best hotel that I stayed in in Myanmar!

Room Tip: Pool is lovely & nice to sit around but pool was closed to swimming while I was there in Februar...

We had a wonderful time during our 5 night stay at the Blue Bird Bagan in January 2013.

We had chosen this place for its tranquility, away from the large anonymous hotels in Bagan and we were very happy with our choice: the staff was very kind and helpful, the rooms were spotlessly clean, it was a great atmosphere at the pool area, the garden and the restaurant.

The absolute highlight was a flower decoration we found on the bed for my birthday and which you can see on one of the photos. I even got a letter with signatures from all the staff congratulating me. It was the staff who had all organized it by themselves which speaks for how much they care for their guests. The evening was then celebrated with a chocolate fondue - the only one to be found on our 3-week trip in Birma, it was delicous. Overall, the kitchen offers very high standard Western food which is all cooked with bottled water so even cocktail drinks with ice were safe.

We would highly recommend this place for couples wanting a hide-away from the heat and the tourists of Bagan and the personal touch of a boutique hotel. For sure we will stay here again whenever we come back to Birma.
