“the magnificence in white”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2013

Belongs to type II temple in Bagan architecture. Built by king Alaungsithu in 11th century. important is two standing door-guardians in eastern entrance. Origin of temple name is from The omniscience of the Buddha and it means knowing thoroughly and seeing widely. The terraces of temple provide good panorama on Bagan fields, hills and river Ayeyarwaddy.

“Omniscience, across the road”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2013

Thatbyinnyu or omniscience is known for its brickwork, they said you can't get a blade between the bricks. The work is amazingly intricate and separate itself from the others.

“The Pagodas of Bagan”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2013

Thatbyinnyu Temple, a 12th Century temple with 4 levels, only the stairs are no longer in use.
Best viewed at sunset when a little cooler
but my favourite truly, was floating about in a hot air balloon offering a marvelous overview of the plains of Bagan.. and all the marvelous pagodas scattered about

Beautiful seen up close and to explore inside, but my favourite temple to photograph after sunset from Shwesandaw Pagoda as it is lit up.

“Wonderfully constructed temple”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2013

This temple is famous for its brickwork, which is so carefully done that you canot get a knife blade between the bricks. At the moment you can only visit the outside, but that is the most interesting (I am told). The brickwork is impressively intricate, different from many of the others. The guide said that the name means "omniscience".
