“Cheap option for odd night or two but can be very noisy”
Reviewed March 18, 2014

Stayed here for 1 night on way to sabang and found it cheap and well located. Plenty of eating options a stones throw away. Rooms slightly grubby but acceptable as backpacker accomodation. Was perfectly happy to book another night on return transit but was given a room on the right side as looking into the complex. These rooms were so unbearably noisy from traffic behind that I wouldn't stay in them again. This hotel is in a decent location and is walkable to the tsunami museum, memorial sites etc but make sure you get a room towards the back of the complex and most certainly to the left!

If you are looking a cheap place to stay for transit or staying for one night just to sneak peak of Banda Aceh city and don't want to splurge money than this is the place you looking for.
I believe for some people it called cheap motel instead of hotel.
Found the plus point though about this place. Food market is located in front of the hotel and full of traditional food. And the hotel is not far from Aceh port to cross to Sabang island.
By the way Parapat name is a location in North Sumatra and where the owner originally come from

Room Tip: Room with aircon and fan is same condition so don't bother with the price. If you're leavin...

Not many people stay more than a night in Banda Aceh so most will be here only one night, but I was here two and thought it was fine. It is as other reviewers mention, a bit worn down, but my room was clean and comfortable enough. And yes they spray the room with bug spray when you enter, which another review complained about. I can only imagine what they'd say if there were bugs in the room instead (hello, this is Sumatra you can't just ask the bugs to not come in). A bit loud especially with the muzzein calling at 5 AM but I don't imagine there's anywhere but an expensive luxury hotel with AC where you might have any chance of avoiding that in BA. The room was a very reasonable 100k/night. Staff doesn't have great English but plenty enough for simple communication and they are willing and happy to help with your questions.

Also, not sure where the reviewer who complained about inflated prices here has been staying, i.e., where he's getting a room this clean with en suite western bathroom for less than this I can't guess. I certainly didn't see one on offer anywhere else on Sumatra (there isn't one in BA) and certainly not even close pricewise anywhere else I went in Indonesia.

Don't let the profile picture fool you, the rooms at this hotel are dreadful. When we stayed here, we experienced a dirty bathroom (unclean sink) with bugs crawling everywhere on the walls, beds that seemed dirty and smelly, and just before you're shown to your room, one of the workers goes in and sprays the heck out of it to mask any bad smells lingering...if this wasn't bad enough, those bugs I spoke about earlier, made their way into my bed, and I stayed awake killing quite a few. Save your cash, and skip this hotel.

We stayed for one night in a basic room at the Prapat with fan and cold water. For $10 a night the place is really not bad, especially when everything else in town is almost double the price or more.

The beds were comfy enough and had clean sheets, the fan worked well (although it was still very hot in the room) and the bathroom was a standard wet room but still quite clean. The hotel is near a number of restaurants and there are plenty of tuk tuks to take you to the airport or the harbour. The rooms could use a lick of paint to brighten things up a bit but there are chairs and tables outside the door if you need a break!

Overall this is a good place to spend a night when you're in transit but I'd recommend upgrading if you need to stay longer.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the higher floors

This place has the cheapest rooms in Banda Aceh and they are clean, though basic. Best value in Banda Aceh is still a low value for money compared to the rest of Sumatra, but that can't be helped at the moment. We stayed a few times, but only when a basic room was available. If not, the next door Hotel Wisata offers better value for your extra money. We once stayed a few hours during the day, because my girlfriend was sick, waiting for an afternoon flight, but were charged a full night fee. A little unfortunate and in any other case we would have decided not to stay there, but this was an emergency.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are cheap (100k), but if these are not available a standard room at the next door Wis...

Very near to all food stalls and souvenir shops.

Within walking distance to the Raya Baiturrahman Mosque.

Rooms are immaculate. Wonderful, helpful and friendly staff. We took the 100,000 rupiah standard room, but no difference in the good service provided by the staff.Towels, soaps and drinking water are provided for.

I believe the owner and staff put a lot of effort in maintaining the hotel. I feel safe staying here, though it can be really noisy at night from the streets!

There are many rooms. Just walk in.
