It was my first time fallen asleep on a warm beach sand while starring at the stars and waiting for the turtle to land on the beach. We were lucky enough to have watched the turtle laid eggs.
If you want to come here, don't forget to bring flashlight, jacket, and a big 4-WD since the road was so bumpy.

This place is far away from city and have to travel by jeep through rocky road for couple of hours. It was a bumpy ride. Resort we stayed in has no fan nor air con. It was very hot. But I guess most of the resorts/homestays are like that in the national park. Manage to see turtle come up to the beach to lay eggs and release baby turtles at 6am the next day. It is an interesting experience for those who have not tried.

We went there on a very hot day, making us all exhausted when arrived at Meru Betiri National Park. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to see turtle coming up to lay eggs on the beach, though we waited for more than 2 hrs at night. However, we released the cute baby turtles back to the ocean with the help of rangers in the morning instead. The beach itself is serene and beautiful.

Quiyte reomote place, but it's worth to go there. I was disbeliver that the turtles would come to the beach. I was waiting for few hours and finally some of them appeared from the ocean. Rangers were very helpful - thanks to them I had a chance how the turtle lays eggs.

Our guide Edy from the Kawah Ijen Gest House bring us to this place, we spent one night in the village.
It's a long way to reach this place and 4-wheel drive is required (a river needs to be crossed) but I really recommend the adventure!
Right here you'll see green turtles, nice peoples and a beautiful beach. I think it's a must do in Java but be prepare to see the other face de of indonesia: The waste... a lots of human debris, (plastic and bottles) are on the beach.
Recommended Come on Dry Season (July-October).
