Very nice places. It's equoatoor, 0......
The only one in the world. Better you bring a hat or umbrella when you are in Pontianak. This area is so hot. There's no entrance ticket when you are here, the officer will talk with a mic when you are inside, that's not mean they asked you for money, all is free. Just sign guest book and after that you can walk around, indoor are not big, only 200 sqm. an orgiinal monument is inside, you can read the history in there.
Dont forget to buy a dummy monument, inside the monument only 40k IDR, outside at the souvenir shop it's 75k IDR. Just help the empolyee inside by buy a soft drink, such as coke, water, etc. price is reasonable.
Try to visit this monument, have a good time.

It is just an ordinary monument with nothing else besides the monument itself and a little diorama room underneath the monument.

Being in the equatorial line is really something...

You're not moving from the northern to the southern part of the earth simply by jumping a little like here..the monument is simple but nice..they hhave a special event in a year where you don't have any shadow..but I forget the date..

The so-called museum could have een managed better..more þinteractive info, colorful leaflets and more photos..
The simple machine that can be used to demonstrate different direction of the water spiralling down in the northern and southern part of the earth could attract more attention if it functioþns properly..as it stands by the Kapuas River, the museum et the monument could be a more attractive place for tourists who can have the experience of being in the equatorial line and enjoyþing river cruise at the same time...

the souvenir shop is ok
though..and I think despite the fact that the monument is very simple and minimalist, it is still worth a visit..

Being at the equator is one of life time milestone of achievement. But is a small museum with just the monument. Well take a few photo and have some nice coconut drinks just outside the museum with river view.
