“Dirty, disrespectful staff, horrible stay”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

I've been traveling around India for the last 5 months, and this is by far the worst hotel I have stayed in. We arrived at the hotel after already booking a room for one night and paying for it via makemytrip. The receptionist said we were being moved to a "sister hotel." I argued with him, but to no avail. He arranged for a rickshaw to pick us up and take us to this "sister hotel." While Hotel Sahil is perfectly located, right in the heart of town, this other hotel was on Ajmer's fringes and totally out of the way for us. Upon arriving at the other hotel, the receptionist there, who spoke no english, looked at us quizzically and immediately called Hotel Sahil, (without even speaking to us) and said in Hindi, "They're white." After he hung, up he reluctantly showed us to our room. About 10 minutes later, my friend received a phone call from makemytrip, asking us how our stay was so far and if there was anything they could do. Shocked, we said "Yes! Absolutely! Arrange for us to be sent back to Hotel Sahil and get the room we paid for!" Within 10 minutes we were on our way back to Hotel Sahil and were greeted somewhat begrudgingly by the receptionist. After looking at our passports and seeing that we were from the USA, he warmed up a bit. He showed us to our room, which at this point we felt we couldn't do anything about. The room was small, with dirty linens and towels. There were cockroaches and constant noise all through the night coming from the hall way. I had to keep saying to myself "only for one night, only for one night." Personally, I can deal with disrespectful staff and being forced to switch hotels, but I don't do well with dirty sheets or cockroaches! All you need is some bleach and an exterminator!

The next day the receptionist approached us after having had a closer look at our passports and visas. He was all smiles and friendliness when he realized that we were students studying at one of the best schools in India, that he wanted his son to go to. He asked us questions and was as welcoming as can be.

Take away message: The hotel gives preferences to white people and can be totally two-faced. It is dirty, loud and there are bugs. Stay away!

In single word, "THIS HOTEL FOR BUDGET". I have been ajmer many time and i found this hotel bad then other. It is about 1.5 km far from ajmer dargah gate. I hate to walk this long distance after shopping and jiyart at dargah.

Also, they have worst interior in room. No ventilation in room. Very small T.V is provided with no clear view for T.V. I will never recommend this to anyone.

Room Tip: ok for budget hotel.

WORST place to stay. No ventilation in any room, in fact no Window concept at all in the entire hotel. Once you are inside the room you feel suffocated & like being trapped in a CAGE.

People are being looped by brilliant publicity / marketing through web to attract customers. They would always tell you that rooms are not available and hotel is full; if you are making booking online or calling them for best rate but once you arrive their; you would find the entire hotel is vacant and available. As there is no business, they are literally over charging & looting the guests visiting them or getting trapped in their loop.

Room Tip: If you are planning to visit Ajmer for paying homage to Dargah sharif & Pushkar..... MAKE A NOTE...

Difficult to rate this hotel.. Location is good, however, it is Ajmer, which I didn't like.
As said, centrally located, but the room was full of bugs and it was dusty and dirty. After compalining we got another room, which was a better. However, the shower didn't work.
The hotel is ok, but there are a lot of hotels which must be better, I think.
