“Nice cosy stay”
Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

This a a very old hotel where the film Bobby was shot.It has many small cottages and the rooms wooden furnished with a bukhara for heating. .Mr Fayaz gave great service and made sure the room was well heated at all times. Anything we needed he was just a phone call away. The bathrooms looked modern with all d modern fittings.Even walking around the hotel premises was a pleasure. Very peaceful.
The food was good especially the chicken kanti. They don't have a buffet system for breakfast and very little choices. hardly 4 choices which disappointed a lot of other guests coz its an expensive stay.
Also while checking out I was asked to pay 1000 extra for my daughter's stay which was later reduced to 500.... They could have easily waived that off.The service at the reception needs improvement as they don't even serve a welcome drink. Gulmarg is a beautiful place and Highland park is worth staying in.

The hotel is situated in a very picturesque valley. We did not stay there but had a very sumptuous lunch that was value for money. They serve very good Kashmiri food although not "Wazwan".

The service was good; food was very tasty.

Room Tip: I am sure all rooms are good. We only went there for lunch and loved the place.

Worst hotel with zero hospitality.
Here the people are rude and blunt.
Breakfast is worst and zero variety.
Room has bath tub but you cannot use it because there is no hot water.
It is not worth paying so high for the hotel.
Would never ever come to this hotel.
We were a group of 10 adults and we received zero service.

Highlands Park is probably one of the oldest properties in Gulmarg, well-known because of the Raj Kapoor film 'Bobby' that was shot here. We stayed here for two nights in the last week of March and had a fabulous time. It was snowing in Gulmarg and it was like being in a chalet in the Swiss Alps (no exagerration!) The rooms, albeit furnished in a retro style, are heated with a 'bukhari' that's replenished with logs. The bathroom has been renovated and what surprised me was the high-end 'Kama' toiletries. Room service is quick and prompt. The food (in their restaurant) is truly delicious - a big thumbs-up to the Kashmiri cuisine. There's a bar and a library if you prefer to curl up with a book and a drink. The famed Gulmarg Gondola is also nearby (but then, in Gulmarg everything is at a stone's throw.) Overall, HP is the real deal. Go for it unhesitatingly.

Room Tip: Ask for the 'Bobby' suite - it's a tad expensive but something to talk about!

We were at the hotel a day after it had snowed heavily in Gulmarg. The hotel staff had ensured that the path to our cottage was adequately cleared and the room was well heated. As most of the place is covered in snow, the lack of lights at night do make it a little tough for people to reach their rooms - we however got comfortable walking in the snow after a day and it was all fine.
The staff ensured that the rooms were well heated at all times by the bukhara. The only challenge was in the morning when the fires had burned out and the room needed to be heated once again - to ensure mobility in that cold weather.
Though the food at the hotel was great, the service could have been much better. Getting the attention of the restaurant staff was a tad cumbersome.
For those interested in skiing, this is an ideally located hotel with a major slope starting at the hotel premises and the ski lift coming up right to it. The view from the lounge is also quite scenic and a great place to soak it all in.
Overall, given a choice, we would still come back and stay here another time.

I stayed there for 2 days in standard room, it was a very well maintained and well
managed by the room service. However is no doubt, that it ws the best stay of the
year.Courtesy a cheap n good tour from Kashmirmagic.com. we came here after 2
days at Srinagar.

The land itself is magnificent, the gardens are lovely and everywhere you look there is
another fine-looking building, the architecture is stunning and every lamp, table, etc is
distinctive and designed to work together.

The staff are first class in their enthusiasm and eagerness to please and impress their
customers. But the thing I like the most was the lakes around … a tremendous one
crystal clear water I must say that It looks better than our drinking water.

. The restaurants all served good foodstuff, mostly the sundowner, and the cocktails
were tasty. you can taste the genuine Chinese, Indian and continental food it provides
you memorable dinner ever. The menu is surprisingly big with a good variety of options I
love the food quality of the resort.

All the rooms are with the most current features which have been carefully designed
with care to enhance the enchanting atmosphere of the environment. Cleaner rest
rooms, corridors and elevators which I consider to be one of the most important factor
when rating an attraction particularly the basic reason of writing a review.

Various games that I enjoyed are pool, table tennis and like to have sun bath. A must
visit place for a peaceful romantic vacation away from the webs or hustle bustle of the
city life. I would have no hesitation in recommending this resort ..It ws a brilliant vacation
in the end

The place will not be like a 5star but it is nice in all its way. Though its an old hotel, built years back but is not run down at all. Infact the bathrooms were so neat and clean. Well maintained and good scenic view from it. Gives a nice feeling of sitting out of your room in your front lawn and specially if you are sipping on tea with your fav.snacks.

Also the people working in the hotel are working with them for years that they have good stories to tell you of the place. Very close to golf course and Gandola.

Really Really very nice place.
