Stayed just one night in this hotel in room 8 on the top floor - no lift up. Large room and bathroom with an area by the shower for drying oneself, so the floor did not get wet. Soviet era or old fashioned furnishing, but plain sheets, not seersucker which we had in a number of other hotels.
Breakfast had juice as well as eggs, frankfurters, cereals and the usual cheese, tomatoes and cucumber.
Easy walking distance of the town, with a leafy road outside.

Stayed only one night and for that it was fine. Located not far from the Stalin Museum. The room was large with dark, old fashioned furniture and the mattress sagged. A small balcony but no view, an empty fridge, extra blankets and pillows in the cupboard, aircon, a wall clock, free wi-fi. Breakfast started at 8am although they weren't quite ready at 8. Breakfast was adequate.

Once we managed to locate, and aquire a room after claims of being full, this was an OK place to stay in a town with few options.

Room was massive, with living room and two toilets. Water was hot at times. Staff strange with no English.

I expected this hotel to be better (from what I've seen in pictures). It is a good option if you stay only for 1 night in Gori. It is central, close to the museums and stores, but of course, time was ruthless and made its mark on the features of the rooms. It is an old-style hotel and it is not very well kept.
However, the personnel is very helpful and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We were provided tips on Gori, given a map of the town, and advised to get a shared taxi to Tbilisi on the following day (which the very kind receptionist arranged it in the end for us).

Aside from the fact that Stalin was born in here, Gori is not really a touristy town and so there is not much choice in the way of hotels. With this in mind, the Victoria Hotel was quite acceptable. The colour scheme is a little menacing (dark brown, velvet curtains) but if you open the curtains the rooms can be quite bright and pleasant. The door and walls looked liked they had fallen victim to a few fist fights and the carpets have probably felt a few, "misplaced" cigarettes but everything works, hot and cold water, airconditioning, fridge and beds were clean. You probably can't expect a great deal more in a town named "Gori"! From the window I could see the Gori fortress on the hill. A short walk to the centre but only 2 minutes from the main street where there are cafes, supermarkets and ATMs. Breakfast, when I visited was an extra 10 lari, you might do better at a local cafe for the same price, but it was convenient. Bread, cheese and eggs are served with coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful. From reading other reviews, it appears that most hotels do not speak English. This is also the case at the Victoria Hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 3rd floor have air-conditioning, essential in summer.

A small hotel with some 15 rooms in the outskirts of central Gori, but still within 10 minutes walk from eg. the Stalin Museum.
Moderately priced, but accepts only cash for payment.
Booking through IHotel.ge proved very efficient.
Large rooms wiht good beds.
The reception may only be able to help you in Georgian or Russian, but will readily call a friend who speaks some English if the language barriere becomes to high.
On the first floor there are some rooms sharing a big terrace, ask for one of these.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with terrace
