Hotel is part of a multi-function office tower. Have to take one of the two slow elevators to go upstairs to check in.
My room on the 22nd floor overlooked a small park below. All around were people people people and many stores.
Room itself was pretty standard, perhaps on the bare side. Firm bed. Old tv. No foreign tv channels. Small side table with two chairs. No coffee in room.
There are a lot of stores around the hotel, including a Parkson and Watson (HBA) around the corner. Right outside the hotel are a row of street stalls, selling food and knick-knacks. Fried rice for 5rmb. At the end of the block is a pedestrian bridge linking the four corners, and a fairly large rotunda with a bunch of clothing boutiques sits on top.
In many areas in Guiyang, not unique to the hotel itself, you have to walk a city block to get to the other side of the street since a barrier separates the two sides of traffic. This could be a pain in the butt if you want to go somewhere right across from you but have to loop around an extra 5 minutes.
This hotel didn't impress in any way, but it was cheap and close to lot of shops, department stores and restaurants.
