My husband and i went fo a week all inclusive at the hotel 2 weeks ago. He booked it through First choice holidays, so we hoped that it would be fairly good, having never been to Tunisia before i was a bit sceptical, but there was no need to be!
After getting off the plane we were nearly the last people to be dropped off so thats always a worry, but as soon as we arrived we where warmly welcomed and givena cool drink in the beautiful air conditioned lobby. All the staff assisted carrying our bags to the room etc.
Its a lovely hotel with main restaurant and an ala carte one in the evening and lunch time, you need to ask about this as you have to book, one visit per stay. If you are fussy about your food ten maybe you will sruggle, butwe found plenty of choice lots of meat dishes, salad, fruit, local produce some of it aimed at the polish, russian visitors of which there are alot, but your not going to starve!! i really enjoyed trying all the foods, all well presented very, very clean, staff very polite and will reserve tables for you, this usuallymeans giving a small tip but at £1.00 ago or 2 dinars not breakingthe bank, our waiter put fresh flowers on the table brought drinks etc really nice touch ad dont forget these guys earn next to nothing the Rep told us about £150.00 per month, try geting that service in Leeds on a £1 TIP!!!!
Lots of activities which my husband joined in good fun mixing up french, polish, russian guys in water polo few international arguements, but the animation team work so very hard to be fun and helpfull, Sam, Blackie, Nino all great guys good fun and great shows in the evening, they did a version of Titanic, i havent laughed so much in ages, when they rest i dont know plus it was Ramadan so they are fasting too!
Good rooms, although we asked to be moved as celebrations for Ramadan in the local village carried on into the night and it kept us awake at that point we were on the 3 rd floor, it wasnt a problem for the staff they helped us to move to a lovely room over looking the pool, and i must add the rep Lisa, was lovely ( first choice ) very helpful and approachable.
Lastly we oly ventured out to go tothe famous market 3 dinars there and 3 back, its an experience if you dont like crowds and haggling dont go!! But there are bargains to get you just have to be careful with money etc.
For anonw who has problems with mosquetio bites, i was not bitten once but my husband who is prone to be bitten, and we had taken everything you can think off including Dett!! but anyway he was bitten and it turned very nasty but to reassure you the reception called a doctor who came within half a hour and spoke very good english very nice and proffesional and a great help to us so be assured that there is help if you need it, at this hotel anyway, we heard bad reports of the Omar Khayam, people over drinking , noise etc.
So dont hesitate go for a week in the sun and chill by the pool or beach, lovely beach by the way if thats what your after, this hotel is well worth a visit. We would return but maybe when its cooler,Earlier in the year.
All in all a great hotel , good staff, very clean, good pools and beach, pleanty of food and drink 24 hours in some cases, dont hesitate go!
