“Fantastic New Year Holiday!”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

Dar Sabri is a genius place in the heart of the medina of Nabeul, and off the main tourist trail. Four rooms make it intimate and friendly. You feel at home immediately. We took our children, 4 and 6 years old, for 10 days after Christmas and we all had a fantastic fulfilling holiday. Our suite was on the roof next to the Hammam and rooftop pool, the children loved being in the pool after breakfast while we relaxed in the sun with a book. Nabeul is an easy drive to Tunis, but Nabeul has its own charm and a beachfront so you don't have to venture far if you don't want to, and we didnt in the first few days.

The four rooms are a mix of artisan cfats form Tunis and makes you want to buy everything; the blankets, the lamps and even the soaps are all divine.. There is even an I -Pod and dock with a mix of arabic and french tunes to suit everyone. The hammam was lovely to use on a colder day. Then dinner. An amazingly sociable affair, we gathered for an aperitif and had wonderful four course meals that took us on a culinary journey of Tunisia. Fantastic fish soups, cous cous, noisette drizzled fruit. The chef was truly passionate and inventive. We were often asked what we would like for dinner. The children were truly spoilt every evening.

then there was the hospitality. Our wonderful host Medi who looked after us, sat with us at breakfast and dinner, talked to us about his country, the food, the things to see and experience. He really made us feel at home and often popped out with us to show us a good lunch place or where to buy a newspaper, or make bookings for us. The children loved him and were very sad to say goodbye to him, as were we. All in all a magical holiday and the memories will stay with us for a long time. A truly special place.

I don't quite know where to begin! This is a truly wonderful place to visit! My wife and I took a weekend off to go there without kids (NB - this is not a place for kids!) and we just had the most wonderful relaxing time! As you enter Dar Sabri it is as if you're entering a whole new luxurious world. You leave the narrow worn down alley behind you and enter a tastefully decorated guest house for up to ten people (I guess). It is intimate, calm and friendly - and with the subtle music coming from the B&O system a very special atmosphere was created. It could be the place where you might find it a bit up-tight, but with a host like Mr. Sabri it is the most wonderful down to earth place - yet exclusive!

Dar Sabri is the perfect blend of traditional Tunisian and modern European. We could have stayed there every second of our trip - enjoying the exquisite little pool, the hammam, the music, etc. - but we didn't... After all, you do need to eat something as well. And that may have been the only draw-back of the place - while they offer a very nice breakfast for their guests, they don't typically offer dinner (although it is said that this can be arranged if there is a wish). But with a maximum of ten guests per night that is of course fully understandable...

This is certainly the nicest B&B within easy reach of Tunis that we have stayed at. Highly recommended. The place could do with a bit of a repaint, the wine was served hot, and the kids' meal at 25 euros each was a little outrageous, but overall we had a very nice time in Dar Sabri, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Free use of the hammam was a clear bonus.

I have travelled a lot and stayed in dozens of guest houses around the world and I can assure you that Dar Sabri is among my top ten favorite guest houses in the world. The place is magnificent, the decoration so elegant and arty! Sabri is brilliant, generous and lovely and we were lucky to meet and spend time with the other guests with whom we have actually become friends. The overall atmosphere is really cool and friendly, we felt at home. We had the Ymen Room which is really beautiful with paintings by a famous young Tunisian artist. The bathroom was full of excellent beauty products which were amazing. We also used the hamman which was an excellent experience. We spent hours in the pool chating with the other guests. We had delicious Tunisian specialities for breakfast including bsissa which I recommend. We had such a wonderful time at Dar Sabri. Thank you Sabri, thank you to the Dar Sabri team and bravo!!!

Dar Sabri is a beautiful home that the owner has given guests the opportunity to experience. It is located right in the medina, but has a wonderful sense of privacy.
While we enjoyed many aspects of our trip, the people of Tunisia were definitely the highlight. They were welcoming, honest, very helpful, and seemed happy. We will definitely return to explore more of the country and recommend that others go to experience the hospitality and culture.

We were too sad to leave this magnifique place after a pure relaxing and peaceful sejour.
The house is beautiful, and every detail is well thought.
Sabri, the manager, and his staff are totally involved for your comfort.
We can't wait to come back and try another suite!

Just returned from a wonderful weekend break. The hotel is beautilful - four rooms, and is the antithesis of the giant resorts. We were lucky that we were the only ones staying there and had the house to ourselves. The place is decorated and furnished impeccably, the manager went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. The bath products alone are amazing, and we chose to do the hammam ourselves. So much fun. We ate at the dar at night and it was great. Next time I'll get the cooking class!
