We stayed here only one night as part of our African safari tour. I have been planning a return visit ever since. I would love to stay at least several days here.
Ngorongoro Crater was my favourite stop of all the places we visited. Because the animals are forced to live in close proximity to each other and the crater floor is covered in short grass, you are able to observe the animals interacting with each other far more than most parks.
The lodge itself is at a high enough elevation that it is cool and comfortable, even for a Canadian in Equatorial Africa. The food was very good, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the staff pleasant and efficient.

Sensitively constructed so as to take nothing from its environment whilst affording endless vistas over the heat-shimmering reaches of the crater below, the clustered boulder-built buildings of the Lodge hug the crater rim, linked by rope-lashed timber walkways that skirt the buttressed roots of ancient, liana-hung trees. ... more less
