Amazing place to spend a few days unwinding after the Kilimanjaro Hike! The garden and pool area was relaxing and the big front fence kept the outside traffic noise down and the property felt a bit like a compound - which also felt secure and private. The hotel is priced much more expensive than others in Moshi- but the service and the rooms is of much better quality. I would recommend it to anyone that wanted a "private stay" in Moshi and wanted to feel separated from the hustle and hustle and hustle and bustle that is this little TOURIST town.

This is a small, friendly and welcoming hotel/lodge located towards the west side of Moshi, making it easier to reach from Kilimanjaro airport, which is around 45 minutes taxi ride away. The hotel helpfully arranged a transfer (airport pick-up) for $40 USD and the driver was waiting for me outside Arrivals and his vehicle was modern and comfortable. You could probably haggle a cheaper taxi if you really tried hard, but I personally don’t think it’s worth the hassle.

The lady on reception was welcoming, friendly and speaks good English. The hotel also offers free luggage storage if you’re heading off on Safari or to climb Kilimanjaro. The Wi-Fi wouldn’t work for me in the little dinning area, but worked fine in my bedroom. Breakfast was included in my room-rate and consisted of cereal, tea/coffee and a freshly cooked breakfast. Be warned this does take about 30min to be served, so get down early and place your order if you have an early start. I also had dinner twice at the hotel since I arrived late on both occasions. The menu has a good selection with most dishes around $9 and a similar 30min cooking time, so place your order and then go shower is my advice. Food is fairly tasty and a safe option.

Both of the rooms I stayed in were very clean and well furnished. The beds are nice and comfortable with soft white sheets and free bottled water is provided, along with a kettle and tea/coffee. All rooms have Air-Con. The bathroom was fine with a working shower and decent toilet. After all most guest staying here just want a nice shower and decent night sleep!

Both of my rooms were on the front of the property facing the road, and some guests will definitely be disturbed by the traffic noise at night, so advise you request a room at the rear of the hotel. (This didn’t trouble me as I live by a main road at home.) I can’t comment on the swimming pool as I never used it and imagine it’s rather chilly, but it’s very nice to look at. Overall a very pleasant stay and I would definitely stay here again!

Feedback for the hotel management:
Adding a Hairdryer to each room would be a real bonus! Also ensure good quality toilet paper/tissue is used in all bathrooms; little touches go a long way to maximise guest satisfaction. Finally a long-term goal to improve the sound insulation in the bedrooms to ensure all guests get a wonderful nights sleep.

I stayed 10 nights here while doing business nearby, and so got to know the hotel quite well. It is walking distance to downtown, although a pretty long walk, and is sufficiently far from downtown that the surrounding area is quiet and seemed entirely safe. The hotel grounds are attractive and well-maintained, and the pool looked beautiful, although I did not use it.

The room was quite clean, and the climate was cool enough (July) that I slept with the windows open (they are screened!) every night, and never turned on the air conditioning. The ladies who cleaned the room were pleasant and efficient, and the ladies at the front desk were consistently cheery and helpful.

The kitchen/restaurant service was firstrate... the breakfast was varied... always had eggs and sausage or bacon, and sometimes vegetable spring rolls (fried) or pancakes. I ate most of my evening meals there also, and enjoyed every one of them. The two people who handle waiting tables (one during the week, the other weekends) were very pleasant and capable, and looked after my every need.

Complaints? Only two ... one is that the other clientele of the hotel was not always as pleasant to the hotel staff as the latter deserved (no fault of the hotel, obviously!), and the other is the bathtub. That is, this was the typical older bathtub (clean, but older) with a "telephone" shower ... it was pretty inconvenient to get a shower, so it would be nice if at some point the hotel management were to invest in a more modern tub and shower with a curtain or doors on the shower area.

Unremarkable hotel. It was clean but seems a bit dated. Rooms/beds were comfortable. Sort of difficult to bathe -- tubs were raised off the floor and no shower curtain. It's a bit outside of town, so you'll need to take a taxi most places. There is a good restaurant about 10-15 minutes down the road. A couple people in our group ate at the hotel restaurant one night and said the food was good. Breakfast was included, which was decent. It is located next to the Police Academy -- for some reason the new police trainees were out marching and chanting very loudly at 3:00AM on both nights (the first night for about an hour). I think you could probably do better.

The lodge is located away from the main town and one will require transport everytime for going out. The food and breakfast are average. The rooms are spacious with a colonial decor. If you want some quiet and peace before safaris etc, this may be good choice
