We had three different rooms throughout the hotel and not one of us had a good nights sleep. Noise from staff, other guests, buses turning and security staff created havoc. They ran out of food at every meal and staff were offhand and unhelpful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A nice place to stay either before/after Kili, clean rooms of an OK size, pool area, and buffet style meals that are ok. Staff seem good and we know from a friends experience that they are honest as well (Cleaning staff handed bag with passport/money in). The hire shop is pretty good as well, we got some great sleeping bags for the mountain. I would recommend this place.

We stayed at this hotel in connection to our Kilimanjaro climb and safari trip. The hotel was relatively nice - not exactly luxurious with the inevitable cold showers and small holes in the mosquito net as is often the case in Africa, but the staff was friendly and the only real annoyance - the long walk to the town - was dealt with by having a cheap shuttle leaving on request. I wouldn't recommend walking to town both because of the distance, the condition of the road and the safety aspect - especially after dusk.

The hotel was good value and had the amenities you needed - relatively fast internet connection by Tanzanian standards, a small but nice pool, which was sooo good after the trekking, a restaurant catering for three meals per day and storage facilities, so you don't need to bring all your stuff to the mountain and/or the safari.

I would recommend this hotel - especially if going on the climb. The owner of the resort also arranges both climbs and safaris, and there is a good opportunity to get to know fellow travellers during your pre- or post-tour stay.

Freshly painted, pretty grounds, plenty of food at reasonable price. Rooms are nothing fancy, dated, but clean. Convenient for Kilimanjaro climb. I was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews.
Only advice is, get money exchanged in town and pay with local currency. The hotel screws you on the exchange rate.

Springlands was a great home base for our safari & Kilimanjaro climb. The staff were very helpful. The outdoor terrace was lush & pretty. Rooms were clean and comfortable, food was very good. The pool was a great way to cool off during the day. At one point one of our showers didn't drain properly, but otherwise we had no complaints.

I stayed here a few nights whilst doing a Kilimanjaro Tour. The hotel itself was a 5 minute taxi ride out of downtown Moshi but they do offer a regular shuttle service into town. It does cost a couple of dollars to use it though.

The rooms are on the smaller side but comfortable. I had problems with my toilet flushing in one room and another had no water coming from my shower's hot water tap but once reported I was promptly moved to a different room.

The breakfast was all you can eat buffet with plenty of traditonal western foods and dinner was the same for about $7US dollars which I thought was good value. There is a well maintained pool although I never used it.

The staff were VERY helpful and got things done promptly when asked.

Overall I enjoyed my stay here but it wasn't perfect. The internet was very slow and expensive compared to the internet cafe's in town. For $50US a night, I thought it was a bargain.
