Description: Pamoja Cafe, home to "Moshi's Best Burgers", is a chilled out and funky Rasta Bar, serving great local and western food, cold beer and cocktails. Located in the heart of Moshi, close to several hotels and hostels, Pamoja is a favourite spot for locals, expats and tourists alike. We keep our prices low, our beer cold, our food delicious, our Wifi free and our atmosphere relaxed and friendly. Best of all, all profits from the sale of food go to support Pamoja Tunaweza Women's Centre, which offers affordable medical care, scholarships and business training. Come join us soon and feel the love.

“A bar for cause”
Reviewed March 28, 2014

I didn't get to taste the food offered except the samoosas and Kilimanjaro lager. That time no big crowd since it was early and found out from Mary (the lady behind the bar) that the establishment was supporting the local women community. What prompted me to enter the establishment in the first place was the outside setting. It's kinda cozy and the curio shop besides it didnt hinder but became part of the atmosphere. Among the food shops I entered and dine in Moshi this was the only place where one dont have to pay the wifi.

“Great local food for a great cause”
Reviewed March 22, 2014

Our daily hangout for lunch over 2 months - staff made you feel at home and the traditional food hit the spot everyday - however, what makes it special is that all profits go to support a local woman's center program.

“Good Meal and Atmosphere”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

Had a decent and cheap meal at Pamoja. I tried a Chapati (a sort of local pancake) and the Tilapia and was very satisfied at the end of my meal. The staff was friendly and I really liked the atmosphere in the outside eating area.

“Nice dining experiences”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

I visited here twice in January 2014. The first time it wasn't very busy and the service and food were excellent. The pulled pork sandwich was a bit dry and the chicken salad sandwich was good but was dominated by the bread. For the price it was a great value especially considering you could spend twice as much on Western food in other restaurants in Moshi. The second time we had a burger and the pulled pork sandwich again, though this time the pork was cooked better. I was disappointed as the burger was smothered in cheap ketchup and mustard but the taste was good.

The customer service the second time was deplorable, even for developing country standards. The take out service was obviously overwhelmed and it slowed the order of the food for the three or so people at the restaurant. The food took an hour and a half though the waiter was apologetic.

Overall it's a nice place for quality Western food at an affordable price. The seating area is quite small so if you go at peak times it might be too busy for your tastes.

“Good food”
Reviewed February 20, 2014

Good way to see the real Moshi, as the Café was located downtown, right in the middle of all the local shops. The pumpkin soup was particularly delicious, and the rest of the food was very hearty. It was nice to just sit there and take in the local sights and sounds, and to be so close to the really good shops and vendors.
